If you were any character...

Who would you be and why?

I'd like to say I'd be Hermione, because she's so smart, but I'm probably more of a Moaning Myrtle  Smile

And why are you more of a Moaning Myrtle type, I wonder?

I'm definitely the Ginny of the story. Our personalities match well and I would love to marry someone like Harry Potter ;D Hehe...

Well, to be honest, Laure, I'm probably more of a Ron.  Bumbling and slightly angsty but basically well meaning.  Oh, yeah, and a bottomless appetite!

Yeah, Harry's cornered the market on the sweet but brooding young hero!  Lucky Ginny.

*considers*

I'd say I'm probably Neville. Not early Neville... more like.. Book 5 or 6 Neville. :)

It would  be fun to be like Fred and George!! Hmmm I'd have to say I'm a bit Ron "Bumbling and slightly angsty but basically well meaning." and a bit Hermione because she follows the rules, but there are exceptions! Sealed

Nothing wrong with a little rule breaking, heath, especially if it's for a good cause, as I'm sure Hermione would tell you!

I've been waiting for someone to mention the twins!

I ADORE the twins; I was crushed when Fred died. I cried. ='[[ You can't just break them up! D= God, Rowling is so good at teasing feelings out of her readers; I love it!

yes, she definitely is...I cried very very hard at the end of a few of those books.  especially the last one (mostly because the series was coming to an end).

Hi Mdillman, and welcome!

I have to agree.  Ms. Rowling knows just how to jerk our chains and get us to respond.  But that is what a good author does, no?

no kidding, i consider jk rowling to be one of those authors that will be talked about a century from now.  The way she got kids interested in reading is remarkable.  i love the harry potter books and haven't felt that way i did while reading them in a while.  I'm so sad the series is over, I read them each more than once, but it's just not the same as wondering the whole time what's going to happen.

Absolutely, Mdillman.  There's been some remarkable books in recent years that really got the attention of the tweens and adolescents, kids who normally would have their faces glued to a tv or computer screen.  Philip Pullman's books, the Artemis Fowl series, a whole passel of others, but nothing with the magic (pun intended) of Harry Potter.  I don't think we'll see anything like it again soon, it really was almost a phenomenon.

this thread caught my eye and convinced me to join your group.  i am reading the books (2nd time for me) with my 7year old... we are only on order of the phenox right now, but i am worried about the last one for her.  i think she can handel it, but she is pretty attached to the caractors.  I am a hermione with out all the knowledge ( but my hand is up! and i do folow rules)

Hello and welcome, Jessie!

Wow, if your 7 year old is already on Order of the Phoenix, she must be pretty advanced!  That being the case, I wouldn't worry overmuch about her reaction when you reach the inevitable sad parts.  She'll be upset, but then, weren't we all? :)  And the best part is that you and she can go back to book one whenever you want!

I'd like to be Dumbledore... giving the appearance of being a bit loopy, kindly, and able to blast the daylights out of evil people.

am a mixture of hermione, loony luna ..... and ron

I adore Luna!  I wish we'd had more of her!

Yeah, I'd have to agree with you Anusha. I was definitely a Hermione when I was little and just starting the books, but now I've got some Ron and Luna in me. Sirius is in there too.

I cried so much when Sirius died, and then when Dumbledore died, and then when Lupin and Tonks died! And poor Fred....

Seriously, she killed off most of my favorite characters! D,:

I thought I was the only one who cried when she killed off Sirius and Dumbledore... ((even when I read it for the second time )) Its good to know am not the only one Smile
