I was printing out our County Admin Regulations for using FMLA. I wanted to make sure if I applied for it I could still use leave to get paid. I'm doing it so they can't lay me off while I'm gone.

Oh I updated my journal. My parents went to the doctors yesterday. I was surprised because Mom said they were feeling better. But I'm glad they went.

I think what most places do is let you use up your leave first, then you transition over to FMLA leave.  But yeah, as long as you're on FMLA, they can't lay you off.

Absolutely.  We use them concurrently, for that exact reason.  Our hourly employees are union and their jobs are pretty much protected while out on medical, but they still use their FMLA.

I can use both at the same time. Something the county did right. Now if I can convince them I'm having a baby I can get 80 hours paid leave.

They have started lay-offs in other county departments (not the PD).

Show them where you're seeing an OB/Gyn.  That's plenty of proof that you're having a baby. :D

OMG Laura! I did see several tornado's in my dream. Only one hit where I was but I saw at least three.

Can you believe that girl used the toaster oven again? So now it smells like something has been set on fire in here. And she is the one that moved upstairs!
