I have just 3 days until all the birthdays for this month are finally over -- at least in my immediate family.  We have a total of 6 birthdays in our family this month, 3 in my immediate family!!!  Mine is this Wednesday, so that'll end our run.  My Dad's is next Monday, and that will wrap up the rest, but he's in Ohio so at least I won't have to help him eat any cake.  And I had my party this weekend so I'm done with cake too :)  I won't promise that I won't have dessert, though!!!  You only turn 40 once!!!

But my plan is this:  daily exercise, daily 1000 calorie deficit, daily 80 ounces of water, and daily food logging.  Gotta get on this damn wagon and stay there if I want some more weight off by the end of the year.  No time like the present :)

Let's hear your plans, OK?

Rachel

Good morning!

All is well here -- I got up and got my workout done, had a great breakfast, packed good foods for lunch, and I've got my water in the fridge.  Should be a great day!!!  Hope you all have a good one too :)

Hey Rachel! Glad someone's still around. I need a kick in the butt.

I am going to take breaks today at work, including a walk at lunchtime. No working straight through the day as I have been. I'm also going to the gym after work. No excuses. Haven't been to the gym in a couple of weeks.

I think I should see a dream analyst. For many years, I keep having the same dream, but different scenario. Last night, I dreamt I was a science student who had the opportunity to go on the space shuttle. The space shuttle was going to be leaving between 12:30-1:00, but by noon, I still hadn't packed all my stuff, and I couldn't find things I really needed or wanted to bring, like my camera. I've had many similar dreams before--like I needed to catch a bus, but couldn't make it to the bus stop. Or was going to catch a flight, but couldn't find my suitcase. There has to be some meaning behind this.

Rachel, Happy 40th! I'll turn 40 next April. There are also a couple of birthdays this month in my family--my husband and sister's--both on October 6.

Trying to climb back on the wagon, too! Anyone else out there?

Take care,

Staca

Yay, it's not just me here!!!

What an interesting dream, Staca.  If you get that analyzed, let us know what they say.  I had an interesting set of dreams once in that I had a dream one night, and then it continued the next night.  It was very odd -- something about Martians landing on earth or something, so I woke up thinking about it and thought about it all day, which is probably why I kept the dream going that night!  But still, it was odd enough that I've remembered it to this day.  I used to have dreams that my Mom told me were dreams about being born -- I dreamt that I was going from room to room, and the rooms kept getting smaller and smaller, to where I could barely get in the room, and then I felt like I couldn't breathe.  I always woke up very scared but thankful it was just a dream!

All is well here -- food and water are on plan, I got a good workout in this morning, and I'm good with water.  I'm planning to make myself a special dessert for tomorrow -- I've already had my birthday cake, and I don't want to make a whole pie because no one else in my family will eat it.  So I think I'm going to make a very small apple crisp.  One of my kids may try some, but my hubby and the other kids probably won't.  So that will be my birthday dessert, and everything else should be on plan.

Not much else is going on -- the weather is back to just chilly and not frigid.  It might even be warm enough to light a fire in our firepit tonight!  I hope so :)

Everyone -- post your challenges and successes here!!!  More chatter is better!!!

Rachel

I'm here too - so glad to see activity again.

Doing okay here.  I wasn't so great this weekend as I was studying vigorously for the CPA exam.  I did really good with logging what I ate for about 3 days last week, then I feel off it again.  3 days is better than none, I guess; and I'm starting it back up today.  So far, so good today - I was so in the mood to go and get a sandwich and chips for lunch, but I controlled myself and ate the salad that I brought.  I'm pretty darn proud of myself now.

I took the exam yesterday, so now I'm free for 2 weeks (until I have to start studying for the next section).  I was going to start back at the gym tonight, but my mom called this morning and she's had a mini stroke.  She went to the Dr and for a CT Scan and everything's okay now, but I'm going to go see her after work tonight and take dinner over, so I probably won't make it to the gym until tomorrow.  There just isn't enough hours in the day!

My plan for this week is to try and stay on track as much as possible, get in lots of water, get my big ole butt back in the gym, and start planning my meals for next week so I'll be completely back on the wagon beginning with Sunday.  The way things work the best for me is if I plan my meals for the next week on Wednesday, get stuff from the farmers market on Thursday, grocery shop on Friday or Saturday, and put everything together/cook on Saturday and/or Sunday.  I just don't have time to cook during the week and have time to get to the gym, so I try to make everything on the weekend and then only have to heat it up after work.  My major goal for this week is to have everything completely ready for a great week next week (along with doing the best I can for this week).

I don't even want to step on the scale after how I've been the past 4 days, so hopefully that will motivate me to do well today and tomorrow so I'll be as light as possible for my weigh-in on Thursday.

Hope you all have a great day - keep your heads up!

Hey Micki, when do you find out your exam results? Hope you did well, although I'm sorry to hear about your mom.

Rachel, sounds like you're doing pretty well. I know about the dessert issue. I really wanted a cupcake last week--a red velvet cupcake--and couldn't find one ready made from the bakery, so we ended up buying the stuff to make cupcakes. But then I had 20 cupcakes instead of just 1. Luckily, my husband ate most of them.

It's supposed to be a little cooler here today, too. I'm making a crockpot chicken chili, which should be pretty healthy.

Still trying to get my butt in gear with workouts. I ended up skipping the gym last night and brought work home with me instead. We've been really busy at work, and I'm the team lead of my group, so I guess I feel responsible for making sure we get our work done. But we can only do so much, so I need to stop pushing myself so hard. Never thought I'd turn into a workaholic.
