Yeah - it was at the point where keeping him was just hurting him, but letting go is still awful.

Aww. That is sad. We haven't gotten any other pets since we lost our Poms and Ted the Cat a few years ago.

 I had that issue back in December.  I didn't want to have Binx put to sleep, but that was purely selfish.  And I did not want to stay with her...it was painful for me beyond anything I'd had to do.  But I read in a pet book that when that moment comes, DO stay with your pet.  Whisper in their ear so that the last sound they hear in this life is your loving voice.  It sucked big time - that was the first time I ever had to do that....and my heart just breaks for Kim today.

My boss walks in just now and I'm all teary-eyed.  He asks what's wrong.  I tell him my friends cat died.  He just shakes his head at me.

Some people just don't get furbaby love.

I hate it.  I hate that.  It makes me almost not want a pet.

He had a good long run and a good life, but it's still cold comfort when you have to let them go.
