CHATin' time
I thought of a clever joke to tell..... but I'll tell ya'll later. ![]()
I put off putting off joining the group and posting - so here I am.
I'm in a Marla Singer mood today. I have to get power of attorney form my husband so i can file his bankruptcy on his behalf while he's too busy working to make money and then I have to buy a dress for his brother's wedding to the b***h form H**l. I like Marla's image. Gonna get good & laquered-up before I go to this vegetarian-Birkenstock alcohol-free circus!

Jfker, who made the person in your profile picture?
That would be my neice and her husband. Been meaning to make one myself, but I haven't got around to it yet.

BTW - LOVE the boots, bagga! can I borrow 'em for the wedding?
Oh they just love me here in America's dairyland when I venture forth in my hot pink go-go boots.
Cyn I got them....http://www.pyramidcollection.com/itemdy00.asp ?c=a&T1=P8117+BK+6&SKW=+access&GE N1=Accessories&PageNo=1&pos=3
Ok, folks I'm back after a long, grueling day dealing with the bank - which was actually the easiest part of the day, and shopping for a dress for my bro in-law's wedding this WE. Nothing, zip, nada. 2 thrift-stores and 3 consignment shops and can't find a thing! It has to be a little kitschy (sp?), a little gaudy, but not tasteless. It, by now means, can be ordinary or fit-in. It should garner a few double-takes, but not offend the bride too much. Oh, and it needs to fit. That would be the reason I am shoppign to begin with. None of my clothes from last year fit me anymore.
Tomorrow I will hit another area of town. Its further away, but there are more boutiques & consignment shops with vintage stuff out there. A little more what I have in mind. I was thinking of wearing all-black with a black hat. Too much of a statement?
I'd love the boots, bagga, but I have a BUNCH of footwear like that, packed up in a suitcase because I have no place to wear them anymore and since I sprained my ankle last year, heels are iffy. I will wear heels to the wedding, but it won;t require much walking around. I will buy a dress for the shindig but I am not buying new shoes for it. I have enough already. I just like yours. I have no more reason to wear anything like that outta the bedroom anymroe! A hoppin' night out on the town for us is dinner and a pitcher at the local pub.
I'm tired and thirsty. I have acid-reflux. Ick! I'm gonna get some water & Tums.
Hi candy!
I'm online looking at dresses for the wedding on Sat. I've decided it will be a 50's cocktail dress, maybe with taffeta or chiffon, and really, because its just NOT me at all! Here's an idea... but about knee-length. It'll be totally wearable again with combat boots, fishnets & my black leather jacket.

I occasionally think about it myself, then either the store is all out of sugar or puppy dog's tails, or (more often) I remember that I relish the idea of having a person shoot from my lady parts about as much as the thought of daily colonics and bikini waxes.

or counting calories!
mspw, go wearing a flapper dress. Get a matching head band that has the little feather sticking out and one of those really long cigarette holders. Kinda exactly like this. Just watch you don't accidentally have a coughing fit right in the face of the dear bride.

I imagine it would be something like pooping out a bowling ball. Lucky for me, my part of the deal is much more enjoyable.
Yea, that is a cool dress, but it nto really what I had in mind. The flapper dress will make me look fat. I have to have a sinched in waistline in the dress or I will look bad in it. This styles of dresses are for slim, long-legged women. I have slightly disproportionately short legs that are kinds wide around. The straigh line won't look good, esp with my arms hanging out becasue they are so 'meaty'. I mean, I am muscular, but my limbs are short so it will make me look sorta like a midget. There, I said it. Here's what I need for my body-type:
- knee length or tea length and somewhat flaired our from the waist.
- a scooping neckline would be nice, but I would also take spaghetti straps as long as there is a scarf or something I can wear over it. I might consider strapless, but it would have to fit perfectly for it to work. I have bad luck with strapless tops due to my small bustline.
- 50's style in cocktail dress is definitely for me.
- taffeta, velvet, chiffon, lace are all right by me.
- colors should be black and any deviation from black into dark reds & maroons, burgundys, purples, dark greens, indigo. BUT i might be tempted to wear a pastel if it is just right and I can contrast it with 3" black stiletto heels or something.

I have the cutest picture of my daughter wearing a flapper dress. She's sitting on a bar holding a pistol in one hand and a martini in the other.
*maternal sigh...you can put anything on a 3 y/o and it'll look adorable*
Woah, you all moved the chat along while I was gone!
I tried procrastinating, but somehow got sucked into doing a fair bit of work (grading, more grading, office hours, sitting through presentations, two loads of dishes, making rolls, and a small work out while watching BL). Oh, and worked my homework.
If I don't change my productive ways you all might have to kick me out ![]()
I don't wanna get things done!!
what's up with everyone being productive lately?? I've been away studying like I'm suppose to when I should be procrastinating :/
WAIT!! isn't that what i'm doing right now...procrastinating?? otherwise my nose should be burried in my books.
bah!
I'll finish studying later..... I have more important things to do, like, um... hanging out on CC :D
for all of you serious procrastinators, i must talk to you about something that has just recently changed my life. i am one of those procrastinators who starts procrastinating at the very beginning of the day... actually, before the beginning of the day. i start when my 2 alarm clocks go off, and i procrastinate by not hitting the snooze button for up to an hour. so i don't/like/can't/never get out of bed to start my wonderful day full of procrastinating possibilities. so i present you with ♡ "clocky" ♡.
