Well yesterday i arrived to my house around 8 STARVING! and wit just around a thousend calories in total so i HAD to eat sumthn :L, there was some stuff i had to eat cus it was almost off, so, the result was a GIANT Bowl with:
1 can of Mexican Beans (240g)
400 grams of chopped Cooked Ham
50 grams of cheese
100 grams of chopped red onion
3 eggs (150g?)

Yeah i know it looks a bit gross but i SWARE It tasted AWESOME! and yea, it tastes WAAAY better than how it actually looks hahah :P
At the end it ended with this nutritional values:
Around 950 kcal
117 grams of protein
i drank a glass of milk to compensate the 50 kcal i was missin :P (but its not in the list =D)
The price was 2 pounds in total so it was fairly cheap (1£ for ham, .20£ for cheese, .20£ for eggs, £ .5 for th red onion and .45£ for the can of beans :P)

LOL! You are right, it does look gross but as long it tasted good and met your calorie intake needs, then COOL! I think I would try this without the ham and the eggs and use brown rice instead... Thanks for the idea! Have a good one, mate.
My lentils and rice are even cheaper, lower in calories and fat, but not as high in protein. I guess you could add some meat or eggs or cheese to it. I just combine cooked lentils with cooked brown rice and some onions, celery and peppers, and mix it with a little tomato sauce.
I did the same thing the other day with chik peas, sauerkraut, banana pepers onion and tuna fish the other day when i got home from work and was dying. did the same thing except I put it all in a skillet and heated it through then ate it out of a bowl. When i was done i was thinking how awesome it would have been with half a can of tomato puree and some shredded carrots instead of the 'kraut. Then i thought of leaving the 'kraut but swapping the beans for noodle and the tuna for some turkey sausage. The possiblilities are friggin ENDLESS!
At first i thought this was wierd, but then i thought of foods like the buffalo wing, or the nacho. Even the sangwich was invented after something needed to be thrown together in a pinch and look at them now. They are like staples in every restaurant and kitchen in america. Who knows, maybe i a year or two we'll all be eating the bowl of random. Or, as i like to call it, "The Slapdash-dish"
Rice, beans, tomatos, green chilles, corn, zuchinni, onion, chicken, cilantro.
Serve with tortillas. Soooooooo gooood!!

I have an uncle who just calls it 'Siht in a pot'.
hahahaha!! Thanx for the pic!
I often do this when don't really have anything in the fridge at the end of the month - grab anything in the cupboard and throw it all together!
it always tastes amazing! Just can't really serve it to anyone else though ;)

Me too... but I usually have to feed it to the fam. My daughter calls these meals " Concoction's" and they usually start with veggies and vegetable broth!

Haha i just cracked em, well ss cus the thing is that i just throwed everything in like the cheese and the eggs and then i got it in the microwave where the egg got cooked and the cheese melted :L
The truth is that i love this dishes but im sure i would say no if im not the one making it - if someone else makes this and offers me a bit i would think it twice... no, actualy i would eat it haha. =D
you're right.. it doesn't look very appetizing, but i've found that those are the best tasting meals!!
