Is the first week of eating right too early to have a cheat day? When did you have a cheat day?
Just curious?????

Sure it is.. it all depends on how you look at it. If you've done good the whole week, a cheat day is good to get in a bit of the foods that you've missed out on. Just make sure to be right around maitenence calories.
I just want to have a mcdonalds ice cream cone. I am not sure why I just been craving it. Sounds funny I know.
Good news! McDonald's vanilla cones are only 150 calories. You can easily fit that into even a very low-calorie diet. I say have one and enjoy it!
I've taken a cheat day (free day) every 2 weeks and holidays since I started and I have lost 65 lbs since June 2007.
Congrats J3nn... I think I am going to have the ice cream cone today for snack... Sounds good I have been doing fairly well since monday so I think I deserve it...LOL
I have lost 54 pounds since Sept. 24, 2007. I have a cheat meal every friday or Saturday. I think you need them for your sanity...and to keep the cravings at bay! Good luck!
Wow tgegogeine that is amazing. Continue the great work. How soon did u start seeing results just curious because I am not seeing anything yet but then again I just started.

Cheats can be really dangerous for me because I tend to beat myself up over it and get depressed and the feelings of failure make me want to seek out comfort in more "bad" foods. I hate the vicious cycle!

In 11 days, I will celebrate my 5 month anniversary of "healthy-eating" (dieting).... and I haven't had any cheat days.
=^..^= MOLLY
I have a cheat day 1-2 days a week where I either get any REAL food I want, or I snack on candy/cookies that I have saved from the holidays. Hey, we deserve it!
those don't work for me. I had one yesterday and I feel horrible. The urge to binge is back too... I'd have been better off without.
"Cheat" days are a bad idea. Instead, each day incorporate some kind of treat into your mealplan so you don't feel like it's some diet you can't wait to get off, some diet that leaves you longing for a cheat day in which you can eat to your heart's content and undo all your efforts.
I don't have planned cheat days but I do often incorporate a McDonald's cone into my calories. I just have one treat each day or so that is within my calories of if it is slightly more I have it on a very active day.
I agree with sunkissedbliss.......but that might just be a personal thing. I find that if i have a cheat DAY, I feel way off track and get the urge to binge and give up. What I do that seems to work pretty well is to indulge specific cravings if I get them and just incorporate it into my calorie intake for that day. Work around it. You'll find that you're okay with adjusting your meals so that you can fit in the ice cream or chocolate you're dreaming about. As long as you're within your intake and not binging on junk, it won't affect your weight loss or your health to allow yourself treats :)
i dont think cheat days are in any way a bad idea. if you NEVER cheat, youll just end up feeling deprived &give into your craving tenfold. cheating is what gets me through dieting. i have one either every 1 or 2 weeks. it also helps to boost your metabolism, really, it does.
