When "cheat days" go overboard.....

Quote  |  Reply

Alright, I'm guilty... I just had about 25 spoonfulls of frosting. It started out just wanting "a graham cracker with a little frosting on it." Ha! I feel like I'm going to explode. See, folks, this is what happens when you DEPRIVE yourself of sweet stuff for so long.

So, anyhow, make me feel a little less guilty... when was the last time this happened to YOU? Ya know, when you went overboard with the cravings?

Alright, I'll be bustin' butt in the gym tomorrow... if I can get out of bed.

lol  Well I don't know if this'll may you feel any better, but I clicked on this thread because I'm sitting here stuffed full of Speghetti.  (Your frosting sounds wonderful, I'm glad right now I don't have any in the house!)  I DID measure & thought I would be OK, even had whole wheat pasta, but I just totalled up my calories and I'm over, too.  I don't go to a gym so I guess I'll be walking extra blocks tomorrow.  Good luck.

Patsu

Ha, Patsu... you're right, that didn't make me feel better! I'm waiting for someone to write, "yep, just ate 6 big macs, 3 slices of apple pie, 2 strawberry shakes, and a cream filled donut." THAT would make me feel not so bad! :-)

And I just did the spaghetti thing last night. I made mine with whole wheat pasta, venison, and fat-free spaghetti sauce. Just a cup was 540 calories! I went overboard on that too. Who eats just ONE cup of pasta anyhow? Geesh.

Anyhow, thanks for the reply. I like to hear people's pigging out stories. Ha. Just kiddin' -- have fun walking tomorrow :)

I feel the same way! I deprive myself of something I want to eat but shouldnt and then all of a sudden I have eaten the whole Easter bunny complete with the peanut butter filling.

I don't think you need feel guilty... not unless you stole the frosting from the jaws of a starving child.   Food is food is food.... there's no such thing as a bad food, just a bad diet.

Let me throw this out at you to possibly ease the pain...

A few weeks back I went with friends to the Strawberry Festival (anyone in Florida will probably know it...) and had a "screw healthy eating, I'm going for it" type of day.

Well, thinking back, that day I consumed the following, in no particular order:

-medium strawberry milkshake
-half funnel cake with peanut butter and chocolate on it (oof)
-about 10-15 pieces homemade taffy
-6 beers
-huge ice cream on cone with colored sprinkles
-grilled cheese sandwich (w/fries)
-split chips/queso with 2 others
-about 5 chocolate covered strawberries
-one make-your-own strawberry shortcake
-some boiled peanuts
-3-4 strawberry cookies

And there may have been more I don't remember.  Moral of the story is... I almost ralphed but didn't and made it through.  Worked out the next day and never saw any residual effects.

Damn Strawberry Festival!  It was super-fun, though.

Hah ha Choco..... I feel better now. I've had a few days like that too (even more so than eating a half of tub of frosting). It always tastes so good going down, but you're lucky if it doesn't come back up again. I am feeling a bit queezy this morning though. I'm bloated beyond belief.... and I'm thinking I won't get too far at the gym. Although, I'm headed there in about 20 minutes. Let's hope I don't ralph!

Thanks for the comment gi-jane. Rest assured that I didn't steal the frosting from the jaws of a starving child :) And I have to believe if I do this much more, it WILL qualify as a bad diet. But until then, I'll say I got off the beaten path for a day. We're allowed to do that every once and a while... riiight?

...and to sweetsares, I'm sure happy I don't have one of those chocolate easter bunnies in my house right now. You've just unleashed THAT craving. Mmm, that sounds good!

I agree with u shleesh-who does eat one cup of pasta anyway-i said to my wife just yesterday-how is it possible that i am still fat after eating so healthy, even if its only been 3 1/2 months- look at the food on a restaurant dinner menu-mostly all contain high fats, butter, batter etc.- and look at whats being cooked on the cooking shows, one of those meals would have to be around 5000 calories for one meal only,- and pay attention to whats being advertised on tv-its endless high calorie, high fat food- and yet the struggle to loose pound by pound seems endlessly hard just to find healthy things to eat in certain circumstances- let alone breakdown days at partys or whatever-geeeeesh :-)

Haha.... well, gee, thanks for checking! ;)

I'm actually proud to say I didn't eat my kid's candy this year. Not saying that it wasn't extreeeemely tempting though.

I think i can make you feel better!!  Recently, my boyfriend came to stay for about 2 weeks...i didn't have one weak moment of bingeing...i had a whole two weeks as we ate out every day (desert at every dinner of course:-), grabbed a quick snack here and there whilst on the go (which of course weren't healthy) and did no exercise!!  I kept on telling myself i'd be ok but, i got on the scale yesterday, and i have put on...3kg (about 7 pounds) in 14 days:-/  So, dont worry about your frosting-weakness moment shleesh, just don't do what i did:-)

Ps:  I agree, who eats one cup of pasta??

I bet that was the best 2 weeks of your life too, huh Elle? I have indeed had weeks like too. I think this is one of them. I say the frosting started it all. I haven't counted my calories for about a week now, and haven't been to the gym in a few days either. The busier I get, the more I eat. I thought it was supposed to be when you're so busy, you forget to eat? .... I've been splurgin' like crazy! Thank God I'm too poor that I can't go out to eat. God knows that if I had money... I'd be at every restaurant across town. And I'm 100% positive I would not go to the "weight watcher menu" either. And 7 pounds? Eh, who cares.... food is good.

And yes you made me feel better. So good, I think I'm going to go get more frosting ;)

My latest binge involved almost half of my nephew's birthday cake.  At least I was kind enough to bring the cake to the party, because I looove buttercream icing store bought birthday cake and I knew I would eat alot!  I started with 2 small pieces and a cup of coffee, but I couldn't stop.  I would get another piece, then just a bite, then another.  OMG!  It had to be the best tasting cake in the world!  It was so worth it!  I had a little trouble sleeping that night, just from the sugar rush I guess...hehe.  I try not to get close to cake very often because it is my biggest weakness...there are many others though.  I maintain my weight very well, but only because I eat super healthy most of the time.

"Hi my names mitzi. and i AM a binge eater" alil humor there.

ok lets see its only hours since my last confession..lol.

lastnite i had two pks instant oatmeal, prolly half a reg. size bag of chips(oh the grease) a huge sandwhich and a couple bites of a sonic burger. and feel horrible today..physically sick. this was all after i consumed all my cals for the day..

I definitely went overboard today~

Yesterday was my birthday so I thought, "okay, no counting today! I wanna enjoy my birthday without worrying about calories" so I enjoyed a nice supper with my boyfriend and had a piece of Dairy Queen ice cream cake.

Unfortunately, two people obviously could not polish off a whole ice cream cake in one night, so most of it was left in the freezer for today - and I have eaten about half of it today. I feel soooo sick! I haven't even eaten any real food today and it's almost 7 pm! All I had was a microwaveable lunch and then cake. I've now had about 1400 calories just in icea cream. Blaahhhh what a gross feeling!!

you dont even know what cheat day means. every day is a cheat day for me. night time snacking is my enemy. i want pizza and before i know it the doorbell is ringing and i just polished off a large pizza SOLO and breadsticks (with garlic sauce) on the way to the table. then my sweet tooth kicks in for some dairyqueen. ... we all know what hapens next.

I thought I'd be fine today, because I woke up late and didn't have breakfast, so I figured going out for lunch was okay.......ended up eating my daily amount of calories just for lunch.......only had about 350 for dinner though because I was still so full, so I only went over by about 400ish

Everyone tells me I do not need to lose more weight so one cheat day per week is how I maintain.  Gain 5-8 pounds on Sunday and lose it thoughout the week.  I like both kinds of days - binge and healthy.  Healthy days are about 1600 calories per day.  Some days I think this is healthy and other days think not so much.  I just have trouble maintaining any other way.  I can out eat any of you.  Dont believe me - meet me at any buffet.

I just consumed a total of 1650 cals this day. It's not really going overboard, but I feel super, super full >_<

I just went over my amount today too. But it was all worth it! Today was a delicious day! Like how a lot of people are on this site, i eat more at night, it's like 11 o'clock at night right now and i just ate like cashew nuts and some other nuts so now i am so full, but it was all worth it!
