do you have a cheat day?
i feel like i never indulge anymore. most of the time im ok with it...but lately ive been craving greasy burgers and pizza and when i get around to going there...i think of all the calories and opt for something healthy at home.
do you guys have a cheat day?
I think cheat days set people up for failure b/c by the middle of the week another insatiable craving comes. I prefer to have cheat meals that are spread throughout the week. Or I allot a certain number of calories to something that I typically wouldn't eat and plan for it. This way I don't over do it all at once and I am still satisfied. So, for example, you could have 1-2 slices of people and eat really well the rest of the day. A few days later [2-3] you might have a burger for lunch and eat really healthy the rest of the day. In all, the net increase in calories from your cheat meals would equal 1 cheat day but you would be more satisfied throughout the week. hope this helps!!
well not days...but i cant even succumb to a meal sometimes! my only cheat is to get froyo loaded with cookies and all the badness haha. but sometimes i crave a burger. i should just get one and not feel bad. haha
Mmmm FroYo, delicious frozen chemical goodness.
I used to eat "small", which is around 12-16 oz, pretty much every day. Honestly if you are craving a burger or pizza just have some. You don't even have to go over your calories, just incorporate them in to your meal plan. For burgers, what adds tons of calories is sides. Like cheese, bacon, mayo, etc. Personally I enjoy plain burger, with ketchup, mustard and greens. If you are worried about all the fat in the meat try Bison, buffalo, burgers. The meat is much much leaner. I usually buy frozen patties at Trader Joe. One pattie is 280 Cal, 12g of fat, 6g sat fat, and whopping 43g of protein!

I don't call any of it "cheating" as long as it's in your daily calorie requirements. I've lost 45 pounds..I'm at my goal now of 115 lbs. and cheating isn't in my vocabulary and never will be. If you want greazy burger, eat it, just calculate it into your daily calorie intake.
You want it, you crave it, you should have it within reason. One regular cheeseburger from McD's is ok.....I don't know the count off hand, but it is a lot better than some megga big Double Wopper that you will have guilt for afterwards. But you can't be a nun all the time, it is just no way to live. Remember this is a life changing life style not just to lose the weight but for MAINTENCE! You have to figure out how to deal with craving in a moderation and controlled manner....or before you know it you will be putting it all back on.
Wait...what? I LOL'ed at the quoted line below.![]()
I agree with the above posters, you should just incorporate the "cheat" meal into your daily calories. I've had a little candy for the last few days that I have incorporated into my daily calculations. I feel like I'm cheating even though I actual am not "cheating", per se.
Cheers!

true, i know its not a way to live to eat healthy all the time and not allowing yourself to indulge...but when i indulge i go overboard that is why i am afraid to do so!
ive seriously been craving a chipotle burrito and when i think about all the crap i put into my burrito and how it estimates to about oh lets say 1400 calories and whatever grams of fat...i crrrrrrrrringe. i could break it into fourths and eat it throughout the day but thats not fun.
I love burritos, but Chipotle? ewww.

I'll have a nice high calorie meal every now and then (eggs benedict YUM) but incorporate it into my daily calories.. to me a calorie is a calorie and this is working fine for me as I'm losing weight! Hurrah!
Is jump roping as good an exercise as running?
In terms of calorie burning, moderate jumping is about equal to running a 10-minute mile, although calorie burning is always a function of time... Read more
