My business is having a bake sale for the employees - cookies, cupcakes, banana breads, brownies....its all wonderful. So I allowed myself a cheat today, but instead of having a whole brownie or a big piece of banana bread, I bought one of those little mini cupcakes (chocolate, the best!). It totally satisfied my craving for something from the sale, and I didn't gorge on a bunch of sweets and ruin my day. So I guess I'm proud that I know I can "cheat" without going overboard anymore. Yay!
your right you need to cheat every once in awhile or you will gorge. just cheating on a small serving all ways works for me and I have never gained any weight back on. Thats one good way of rewarding yourself for doing so well all week and not going crazy from not having any kind of sweets. Also, working out alot helps too!
Yes, from time to time I do it too, but for me, a cheat is just what you said, a cheat can be a portion controlled amount of the food that you most desire. My birthday's tomorrow, and I want cake on Sunday (my family's celebrating it that day instead of tomorrow, that's when everyone will be home). My "splurge" hopefully is going to be a low fat peanut butter cake with a low fat chocolate frosting, but I'd be the only one in my house eating my own birthday cake, so I think I'll just make my fat free brownies and hope that I can have a candle in it to have something to blow out when my b-day is celebrated. They're by Krusteaz, and they're actually pretty good too. I'll just have a double serving, that won't be a problem, it'll be like eating a piece of cake. I've lost 101 lbs just indulging sparingly, like having Reeses Snacksters 100 cal packs (I can have my chocolate and eat it too) or my Fiber One Apple Cinnamon Muffin (prepared the non cholesterol way, with egg whites). I mean, I technically never really "cheated" on this plan since I started back in March, but I've had my bad days though. But yes, you must give in to your indulgences from time to time, or it'll tear you apart. For me, it's been eating more fat, today, I took in an astonishing 40 g (18 g sat) fat.
