CHEATERS....What is America Coming to?
HEHEHE..so check it it people…
I knew America was F’ed up, but DAMN!!!! When you are married…that’s it man…no more chasin’ booty. They have a site where married people can go on and cheat on their husband or wife. WTF. And get this….ohhhhh you’re gunna love this...the site: AshleyMadison.com is named after the guy’s daughters…and they are like little kids. I guess this really is the home of the free and brave where people can profit off of cheating spouses. Not only that, but he even made the slogan “Life is short…Why not have an affair”…hahahaha. I gotta give it to him though…he is exploiting something that will make him rich….QUICK!!!!!.
I told my girl if she ever saw me on that crap … that she has the permission to shoot me in the eyeball and rip off my balls. I mean what do you think seeing a site like this? By the way…some women might want to check and see if their husbands are on there…you might get a RUDE surprise!!!!!!

yeah he's married....and she trusts him 100%
That's what he says!
If you say it often enough, it becomes true!
i think people are cheating on their spouses at about the same rate they always have
main difference is that we talk about it now instead of keeping it secret
the internet is a tool that makes communication more efficient - and so increases 'efficiency' of finding someone to cheat with (regardless of that site - that guy is just a cold-hearted, greedy capitalist - perhaps the poster boy of laissez faire capitalism)
i agree with rahana, though -- cheating is a coward's choice
if you're in a loveless marriage and don't want to live like that, ok - get a divorce and pursue the life you want. if that is too hard for you, then you don't really want it. But don't sacrifice your integrity by cheating. Make your marriage work or leave your marriage (or negotiate an open marriage if your spouse will agree to it). Show some spine.
agree.
Agree, of course.
this website sickens me. If you are not happy in a marraige then why are you still together?? i was listening to a morning show on the radio and this woman that called up and said she uses it and justified why just made me so angry.. argh.
I am going to play devils advocate here.
Yes our countries moral compass is going further and further south, but why are we the public so interested in what everyone else does? If we spent less time worrying about wether other people were cheating maybe we could spend more time fixing the problems within our own relationships.
Marraige vows should be lasting and should be able to hold a couple together, but what if they don't? What if there is love but no physical intimacy, who are we to judge. I myself am not a cheater and neither (as far as I know) is my spouse) but I can't be bothered with what other people do with their free time.
This country was set up and marketed as the land of the free, golden opportunity here, so if this is how this guy chooses to make his money, more power to him. Law of supply and demand. People obviously want to cheat and he is giving them the means to do so.
^ yes, it used to be illegal to cheat on your spouse
now, it's just something that will allow your spouse to get the better end of your divorce agreement
i don't concern myself with what other people do, but i also don't have to respect everything that everyone does - and I don't respect cheating or people who cheat on their spouses
i do respect people who are honest and live honestly, even if it means ending a marriage and going through a difficult patch because of it
as for the guy who owns the site, obviously this is a free country and obviously he has found his purpose in life ---> to help people cheat. He must feel really good about himself.

Interesting business concept... find something people are doing already and capitalize on it. I'm sure they'll do well.
That said, not everything in life is black and white. Take, for instance, a fellow I've heard of who is living in Japan. Wife, couple of kids, he's doing okay, healthy, in shape... life should be good, right?
You'd think... except he has sex with his wife maybe a couple/few times A YEAR. That's all she's interested in. Not out of anything he's done, mind you. She's just not interested generally. The marriage is otherwise sound, the kids happy, and there is still love in the relationship... just a near non-existant sex life.
So what does he do? Does he suck it up and deal with living a miserable, sexless life or develop a mile-high stack of Hentai to help while away the lonelier hours, but with the woman he loves? Does he break up the marriage because his needs aren't being met, throwing everything into chaos? Does he engage in the japanese de facto prostitution-lite route of compensated dating? Does he try to connect with someone else extramaritally? If he does decide to hook up with someone, which is better: a random connection in some local bar while under the influence of watered down sake, or a website where he can find a woman who has been similarly "sexually discarded" by her husband?
None of the options are particularly palatable, and the reality is that these sorts of scenarios have been playing out the world over long before the advent of the internet. Just now there's someone with a computer and a willingness to make a buck off it.
Gosh. I wonder who this might be? (*eye roll*)
I think this hypothetical person has already made up his mind. That said...cheating is an empty pursuit. Completely.
He suggests an open marriage, letting his wife know his needs aren't being met.
If she loves him, she'll figure it out. If she doesn't, he should walk, because she obviously doesn't love him enough to find a way to meet his needs.
Life's too short to be miserable for 40 years. The kids will be fine as long as the parents are kind to each other and them.
I hope it will keep the married folks off of eHarmony, Match.com, etc.
precisely.

Further and further south compared to when? One could make a pretty convincing arguement that our countries morality is much higher than in past decades...

I was thinking the same thing sully. After all, this country used to approve of slavery, segregation, spousal abuse, child abuse, child labor, etc., etc.

plus people were cheating on their spouses back then too
(you either never heard about it, or the one who was cuckolded shot the two cheaters and you heard about that)

As for adultery, I'm sure it's been around nearly as long as marriage has. The thing about the internet is that it takes things that people were once discreet about, and you can find online websites and support groups for it. Any hobby, fetish, addiction, disorder, trauma, etc. you can find an online community and talk with people who have shared similar experiences and interests, and you don't even have to give your real name. I guess if there are online communities for "Furry Bi Buddhists Who Vote Independent And Are Traumatized By Clowns", why should I be surprised that there's an online community for adulterers?
