Hi!  I wanted to check in with Cecily-  I know you're nearing your due date-  how are you feeling?

I'm still holding on!  I was having so many contractions last week, and when I went to the doctor, he told me I was only 1cm.  :(  Needless to say, I was disappointed.  I haven't really had any contractions since then, but I had a few little ones a little bit earlier today, and my lower back is hurting again.  I'm 37 weeks and 4 days as of today, so it could be any time now!  :)

How is baby Julia?  Is she settling into a routine yet?  And are you getting any sleep?  ;)

Eek! People are popping or about to pop left and right. Glad to hear you are feeling ok Cecily.

Vanessa, how is motherhood finding you? Is baby Julia sleeping and eating well? Also, how are you and breastfeeding getting along?

Am I next to go after Cecily??? I am at 31 weeks. Who else is with me?

my little julia is amazing.  She went to the doc today to get weighed; and she gained 6 oz in one week and grew 2 inches!  So she was 8.5 when she was born; left the hospital at 8.3oz, weighed back at 8.5oz last week and is up to 9.1 oz today!  I'm so proud of her!

Sleeping......hmmm.....she sleeps like a champ during the day.  I can't wake her up.  She sleeps through everything.  At night-  up every 2 hours.  momma i'm hungry.  momma pls change me.  momma i'm bored......LOL-  how do I change this?

I just took her for a 20 minute walk.  It felt great for me-  but she slept through the whole thing!  i forsee a night like last night....if anyone has any suggestions as to how to turn her into a day owl instead of a night owl; I'm listening!

My DH is so good with her.  And he's been so good to me.  Not changing of feeding duties; just TLC and making me aware that I'm still attractive!!  Which I really need!!

I think I'm climbing out of my funk.  I was really down for a bit.  Weepy, bored, tired, irritable; but it looks like this is all normal.

I didn't nap today.  My parents came over and they watched her.  I went to the butcher; the bank and surprised my DH at work.  I'm tired; but in a much better mood.  And; I no longer have to wear maternity clothes and my shoes fit again.  If only I can get my rings back on.....

Breastfeeding is much better now.  I still supplement at night; so she sleeps for three hours instead of two :-P  BUT; my appetite is NIL and I can't seem to finish a meal.  So I feel a little better with her being supp'd with formula.  Doc gave me a vitamin to give her.  I have a good supply; and the  inital pinch of her latching on is durable.  So; much better.

Cecily; any time now!!!  Shill-  you're next!  I have to keep track of everyone's DD!!  Take it easy and rest.

I love the support on this site.  I think of you ladies often.

I can't believe it is already almost time Cecily.  Smile

Is the soon-to-be big brother getting excited?

Shill~I think you are next!  Not much longer!

Vanessa~I got the book "The No Cry Sleep Solution" by Elizabeth Pantley because Cole was the same way.  He slept well during the day, but kept waking at night.  Well, I take that back.  He started sleeping through the night at 8 weeks, but after that, he began waking once a night again.  The book really helped.

UTR~I don't think he even cares.  LOL!  I always ask him if he wants to feel my tummy when she's moving and grooving, and he always says "NO!"  I was cleaning up her closet the other day, and Cole found a tiny rubber ducky.  I told him it was Taryn's duck since she's going to be tiny, and he's already got 3 big ducks.  Well, the past couple days he's been telling me he wants "Taryn's duck."  I asked if he was going to let her play with it, and he said yes, but we'll see if he's that generous when she's old enough for it.  Wink

That's too funny, Cecily.  I am sure that it's not too long after Taryn is born that Cole becomes very protective of her.  Smile

LOL!  That's cute!  He must not realize how much the baby is going to cry in the beginning. :)
I give you ladies huge props for doing this twice!

Cecily- I know my daughter was unsure of her "exitement" about having a little sister. I know she was very worried about her place with me and making sure I still had enough love to go around. She is 5 and being an only child is her thing. The last couple of months have absolutely changed though. I assure her daily that I could never love her any less and she will always have 100% of me if she needs it. She has been super excited about the baby and likes to talk to Ella and lay on her. I am really glad she is accepting of the baby coming now. I was worried. She is also starting school this fall, so I think that gives her a new outlet all her own. Theatre class this summer has really helped her grow more independent as well. She never ceases to amaze me. Cole will come around. I hope he doesn't give you too hard a time. Smile

You will all have to wait another month or so between Cecily and I. I am due Oct. 15th. I'm betting on Oct. 8th though. Innocent

Susan, that's great that your daughter is excited about the new baby!  I've been watching all the labor and delivery shows and making Cole watch them with me.  LOL!  He doesn't really watch until I say "look at the tiny baby!"  I keep trying to explain to him that I'll have to go to the hospital like the mommies on tv, but I don't think he understands.  Then when they show the babies coming home, I explain how I'll be bringing his sister with me when I get home.  But he gets so excited when he sees babies and other small children.  We took him to the beach over the weekend, and he made friends with a 2yo girl.  They were so cute playing together.  So I'm hoping that he'll be just as excited about his new sister.  We'll soon find out!

OH... my favorite show right now is Deliver Me on Discovery Health. It's on Tuesday nights @ 10pm EST... I DVR it and watch Wednesday with no commercials!

What others do you ladies watch?

I watch them all.  LOL!  I watch Maternity Ward, Babies: Special Delivery, House of Babies, Bringing Home Baby, A Baby Story....you get the picture!  Some of those are on Discovery Health and some are on TLC.

Did anyone see I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant?  I saw that a couple weekends ago on Discovery Health (I think).  I still can't wrap my mind around how some women don't know they're pregnant until they're in labor.  Apparently that happened to a girl I was friends with in high school.  A mutual friend, S, told me V was in her wedding.  V was pregnant at the time and had no idea.  She finally went to the doctor when she was having really bad abdominal pain.  They realized she was in labor and sent her to the hospital.  I just don't get it, though.  How can you not know???

I only watch the baby shows if nothing else is on TV during the day. I rarely do at all though. I do occasionally watch Jon and Kate Plus Eight. They truly are inspirational. I give props to making a family work under that circumstance. LOL! Plus, those kids are sooo stinkin' cute.

My real shows of choice are Bravo shows like Shear Genius, Project Runway, Split Ends... I also watched Tori and Dean and So You Think You Can Dance. I always have to tape them or watch reruns because I am usually in school.

Cecily ~ How is everything going?

Everything is still the same.  LOL!  I haven't had any contractions in a few days.  It just amazes me how different this pregnancy has been.  By now, I'd already had my son, and this little lady doesn't seem to be in any hurry to come out.

I have my 39 week appointment tomorrow, and I'm really hoping my doctor will have me leave his office and go to the hospital.  He mentioned having me do that at last week's appointment, but he didn't feel I was dilated enough.  Hopefully I've dilated further and can go to the hospital tomorrow.  My bags are packed just in case!

On another note, my sister-in-law had her first baby today, so I'm thrilled to be an auntie again!  :)  I just wish she lived in the same state so that I could see my newest nephew before Thanksgiving.

Your belly is just way TOO comfortable for her.

Let us know how your appointment goes tomorrow, if you don't go straight to the hospital that is.    Smile

Congrat Auntie Cecily!!!

I'm hoping that the difference in your pregnancies is because you've had one boy and now a little girl! I've had 2 boys and am pregnant with my third, totally different than the other 2... maybe it's a girl!

Happy laboring.... hopefully today is THE day!

Well, today just wasn't meant to be.  Frown  It looks like I'll go up until my official due date (August 29), if not later.  He said we'll schedule an induction next Friday, the 29th, if I don't have her on my own sometime this week.  I'm just ready to meet this little person that's been beating me up all these months.  Wink  Now I know how Vanessa felt!

cecily-  i know ALL TOO WELL!  i think girls just like to practice their independant thinking even before they come out of us!!  it seems like boys hurry up and can't wait to meet their mommies LOL.  Your official Due date is 8/29?  that's a whopping 7 days!  (like you are counting the minutes at this point)  I remember up to the day I gave birth;  she just felt so BIG!  I hope you don't have to go past your DD-  I was an official 10 days past mine and I was so thankful to have her finally out so I could meet her (and get my body back in some order).  I'm thinking about you and hope all goes well-  and crossin my fingers that she decides to come out on time!  ... or a little before :)

I feel for both of you! 10 days PAST your due date is a long time!

Hopefully the baby wants to make an entrance this weekend on her own Cecily.  Smile
