Cheerios vs Corn Flakes...help!
So usually I have cheerios one day, and corn flakes the next. I had corn flakes yesterday, but I want them again today... should I just eat the cheerios anyway, or is it ok to have corn flakes again.. which is better?
Neither is 'better', so eat the one you prefer..... And, because you desperately need to gain weight, make it a really big bowlful, use full-cream milk, add some sugar to the cornflakes and wash it all down with plenty of orange juice. A good breakfast gets your weight-gain off to a good start.
When I was a kid I decided that Special K was only interesting with light cream - there's a thought!
Rigid food plans, where you 'must' eat specific foods at specific times, are very common in eating disordered people.
Part of recovery is moving away from that - learning you can eat whatever you want, whenever you want, and the world won't stop rotating.
I don't see much difference between cheerios and cornflakes - just eat whatever you want. If you're sedentary, a female aiming to gain weight should begin eating 2500 when the risk of refeeding syndrome is over (within a week of upping calories).
I think cheerios with bananas is one of the most delicious things to have for breakfast! A banana adds another ~100 calories, which is good since you're trying to gain weight.
But like others said, it doesn't really matter. Eat whatever tastes better to you :)
On top of everyone else's replies (which were good!), why not try Raisin Bran? I love Raisin Bran and 1 cup gives you 50% of your daily iron intake! Same with Mini Wheats and lots of other cereals.
Neither. They're both really low-cal (bad if you're trying to gain) and they are both really processed and not very nutritious. Try making oatmeal instead. It only takes five minutes or less, it tastes WAY better, and it's easy to add extra calories to in the form of toppings like nut butters, dried fruits, walnuts, coconut, granola, etc. You could also add in some extra protein by cooking it in milk too, or by having some eggs on the side.
Cheerios and Cornflakes a good breakfast do not make.

I disagree. I think cheerios are a good breakfast...if you have 1.5 to 2 times the recommended box serving. Add milk to that plus a sliced up large banana or a cup of sliced strawberries and you have a decent sized breakfast. Since apparently you need to gain, it might not be large enough for you but it is a good breakfast.
In answer to your question: eat the cereal you want.
Make sure to eat a large portion of it, with milk and think about adding sliced fruit, sugar or granola on top.
