Who is YOUR cheerleading squad?

Quote  |  Reply
we all know that our own will power is not always enough. Sometimes we need an outside voice to egg us on, encourage us, love us, tell us that it is OK to make mistakes, and tht tomorrow is a new day.

They're the ones that notice that we do, in fact, ROCK that outfit we weren't so sure about, and the ones that convince us that we are still the same inside, no matter WHAT we look or feel like.

Family, friends and acquaintences, fellow CCers?

Who is YOUR cheerleading squad?

My husband is amazing.
And my fellow CCers are pretty cool, too!

My family - especially my mom, aunt, and both in-laws are my cheerleaders. My husband makes nice comments too, but he doesn't empathize as much because he's never had to deal with his weight.

My friend's list here on CC is awesome, too. They always have an encouraging word, whether I'm on top of the world or hiding in a corner.

My older sister-- She's so inspiring! She worked an 8 hour hard labour job all summer one year, and she still had energy to drag me to the gym afterwards!

My best friend-- She is always congratulating me on my weight loss, keeping me in line (mostly;D, we do enjoy bad food now and then) and I love her so much that I can't hate her for telling me to put down the peanut butter. What's more, she's one of the few people my age who has gone through this process, and who I actually feel comfortable discussing it with.

My CC friends-- Well, not just them. Pretty much everyone on this site! But anyone who comments on a journal, answers a question, shares an expirience, offers encouragement...It makes me so happy! I love you guys!

Mum

Boyfriend

and...

Fellow CCers.

Let's hear it for you guys!! Cake all around! :P
Imaginary cake?=D
My parents, older brother, coaches, cc buddies, and, of course... God.. : )

Well, first off all of my great CC buddies who keep me encouraged and motivated.  I love reading everyone posts and feeling like I have much in common with many of you - that so motivates me!!!

Secondly, my really good friend who wants me to succeed and only wants me to be happy.  And one of my co-workers who is also very encouraging and all girl power-y on my behalf. YAY!

Great topic :)  My son...because I want to be healthy and be able to run and play with him when he starts walking!  and of course= My husband!

He is such an awesome motivator!  He is not afraid to tell me that I could lose weight... honesty is what I need, not someone telling me "Oh, you look fine!" when I know that I don't!  He compliments me all of the time though, telling me he can tell I'm losing weight and my clothes are starting to hang... that's encouragement there baby!

My cheerleading squad is first and foremost my family (especially since we are all doing this together)...my mom in law and sis in law...two friends from real life and one from online and a couple CCers!!! I also have read a lot of messages out here and you are all very encouraging on these boards....the other motivator is my father in law who passed away....i wrote a whole sappy thing about him and exercise...(if you are interested) i have a necklace that is a silver pendant of his thumbprint...i find myself holding that in my fingers on occasion when i am worried or stressed and want to go eat something bad for me....
I, unfortunately, do not have a cheerleading squad.  I live alone, and my family lives about 350 miles away from me.  Instead of having a cheer squad to keep me going, I'm fueled by my obsession with ballet en pointe.  I started dancing ballet about five years ago, and as much as I would love to progress onto pointe, I'm too heavy for it.

Though my whole family is working on weight loss, my younger sister is my biggest cheerleader. She worked hard at a 12-week fitness program last fall with fantastic results, so I begged her to take me along for this current 12-week session. Later times were available, but the 5:30 session was the only time I could go. Jill is NOT a morning person, but she still picks me up at 5:15 a.m. so we can work out together at the gym three times a week.  Thanks Jill!!!!

My parents cheer for every pound lost, too. In fact, this is the first time in many years my parents actually told me they were proud of me. Cool!

And my kids. Even though there are now only (gasp) vegetables in the fridge now and no junk/boxed food in the pantry, my kids are hanging in there with my diet fare and are also cheering on every pound lost.
