Cheesecake Factory

Quote  |  Reply
So last night for dinner we went to the cheesecake factory.

I got the appetizer (for an entree) The Thai Lettuce Wraps.  If you never have had it was about one chicken breast worth of chicken satay (grilled chicken with a light terriaki (sp?) like sauce) and then lettuce, carrots, cucumbers and sprouts.  The veggies are raw and there is not dressing on them.

Do you think that if I log 5 chicken satay and estimate on the veggies that is a good way of estimating the cals?

Probably.

How's your throat? I was at Cheesecake Factory last weekend and had their Thai Chicken Pasta and my throat was dry for 24 hours after :p Way too much salt, I fear :p Or.. some sort of reaction to something i ate :/
Well mine was not high in sodium I don't think.  my throat was fine.

I love the thai lettuce wraps.  I think they are great and definitely low fat and low cal.  it comes with some noodles that you can also but in the wraps but I don't eat that.
I really wanted to go there for my birthday a few days back because I'm totally addicted to those lettuice wraps too but I'm boycotting them now because such a huge corporation can't go to the trouble to post stinkin' nutritional information. I really was shocked to go to their site to figure out what I could eat beforehand and to find that they offer nothing to their consumers.

Went somewhere else and had to guesstimate the calories, but seriously, a company like CCF  really should be responsible to their clients and make nutritional info available. I'm bummed, miss the food but won't be going back till they bother to post numbers.

As to the wraps, I'd do as you suggested. Just break it down by the ingredient and I'd add an extra hunderd or so calories for marinade, sauce and possible oil on the chicken.
I don't think cheesecake factory wants you to know how many calories are in there food, particularly the cheesecake. I read online somewhere that it's about 600 calories for a plain slice! Every so often my college gets cheese cake factory in the bakery section. They are coming again the 28th and I decided I will splurge on a peice of vanilla cheesecake, but I'll just watch my calories and exercise the rest of the week.

I actually almost went there today for my friend's birthday... I was kinda hoping that they would post nutrition facts also, but I figured that the cheesecake is like 930923402384 calories anyway.
I'm sure your right moonlitefairy06. I loooove the orange chicken from the CCF but I am sure it is horrible. I'm even afraid to ask about the chinese chicken yumminess. I don't call it a salad cause that implies "healthy". *grin*
Sounds like the Chicken Lettuce Wraps at PF Changs. I just looked at their website and the nutritional info for them is :    Calories 510   Protein 28g   Carbs 68g   Total Fat 12.0g   Saturated Fat 3.0g

The Lettuce Wraps might actually be okay. Someone on another thread recommended them too. My husband and I went there last night for my birthday. He ordered the wraps and I ordered a piece of cheesecake. I added 700 calories to cover it although I really have no idea how many calories are in it. But yum! That stuff is so delicious. I'm happy to report that I still lost 1 pound today.

I know what you mean about the salt, that night I was so bloated and dried up, and I'd gained 8 pounds from that morning. It was all gone after a nice detox day and lots of water. I thought I'd been somewhat healthy, eating "renee's special" with a small salad, small bowl of soup, and (I didn't eat much of) a half turkey sandwich.

Having had both the wraps from PF Chang's & Cheesecake Factory (for lunch today), I can say the CCF ones are probably healthier/fewer calories.  PF Chang's has a much saltier & thicker sauce on their chicken.  Plus it has more peanuts in it (entire halves or whole peanuts from what I recall, while CCF only has flecks of peanuts).

I found this detail of the nutrition value of the CCF ones: SparkPeople Calorie Finder for Cheesecake Factory Thai Lettuce Wraps

I actually use that site (SparkPeople) to track my food & exercise but the weird thing is that that outline of the values for the lettuce wraps is in a different section of the site than where you track what you eat.  So I actually only found it by doing a google search.

anyway, hope this helps you all out.

don't cry, but these are the nutrtion facts and I'm sorry to tell you but the thai letuuce wraps have over 1000 cals in them

Their pieces of cheesecake are absolutely huge. Who says you have to eat it in one sitting? Their pieces are the size of like three normal pieces of cheesecake. Break it up into servings and have a treat every once in a while.

Thai Lettuce Wraps are DEFINITELY not low-calorie and they are EXTREMELY high sodium. They have over 1000 calories and over 2300 mg of sodium. That's about half the calories most people should eat in a day, and MORE than a full day's allotment of sodium.

In fact, if you review the menu, you may find that you're never going to eat there again :) Unless you're sharing a dish with a friend of course!
