Cheesecake factory nutritional info.....this is seriously DISGUSTING

Quote  |  Reply

so for my friends bday this week we are taking her out to the cheesecake factory. i was bored, actually procrastinating doing my lab report and decided to check out the menu/nutrition facts. they aren't on here, so i googled it and what i find was absolutely appalling. some of the dishes alone have over 2000 cals in them. this should just not even be allowed in the world. i'm sorry but our country is positively gross! no one needs that! they try to keep it secretive b/c its so disgusting. anyway, here's the link if you're bored and want to check it out!

now I wanna go there

THEIR HOT CHOCOLATE HAS MORE THAN 500 CALORIES.

HOW?  HOWWWW?!?!

Wow!  Thanks for the heads up.  At least now I know that there is NOTHING safe to eat there except salad (not caesar, nothing with ranch in the name either...)

oh man. this is FANTASTIC. This is the family's and girlfriend's favorite place to eat. I heard their food was loaded with calories. But between 1000-2000 is NOT bad at all for a restaurant. That's pretty average to me. Nice. Now I don't feel so bad.

Wao!!! Just think that you already had breakfast in the morning and maybe a snack later , then you go and have a1,000 or more lunch and a dessert. then you add the hot chocolate and you can't eat anything else in 3 days!!!!!!!!DISGUSTING!!!!!!Yell

Yeah, those calorie counts are pretty out of contorl, but I must say I was expecting it to be somewhere along those lines!  Cheesecake factory is one of my favoritre restaurants, but I always get an entree and a side salad and take half the entree home.  Then split a cheesecake with the whole table of like 4 or something. Then, I figure that is somewhere around a managable calorie count!

I agree with rgupta.....i also think its hilarious how some people think higher calorie indulgences are "disgusting"

It's called the "cheesecake factory".  What do you expect?  Laughing

Why should this not be allowed?  You have choices.  You can:

1) Not go there.

2) Eat half, get the rest to go (two meals for the price of one)

3) Order fish or chicken ask to have it prepared without the toppings (for some reason everyone needs to smother good food in melted cheese or butter)

4) Ask for a double side of vegetables instead of fries or onion rings (I do this with steak all the time).

Just because the menu lists something a certain way, doesn't mean they can't hold some of the extras that make it less healthy.

I think it's the portion sizes that are the disgusting part.  OF COURSE they're 2000 calories, it's 3 times the amount of food that you should really be eating in a meal.  A 670 calorie dinner isn't actually all that bad.

We all know that restaurants have super sized protions and gratuitous use of fat/butter/cheese/etc, so it's up to you to eat a big, boring bowl of lettuce, or control you portion size and eat a third or half of what they give you.

My go-to for CF is the "small" French Country salad, with grilled chicken added. Get the dressing on the side, and it's a full meal, and not bad, calorically - 390 based on that site, plus the chicken but minus probably half the dressing. And it's delicious.

Also remember, just because it's served to you doesn't mean you have to eat it all.

I am a strong believer that restaurants should supply the nutritional value of your food. This company defiantly falls under that category!! Seriously! A morning quasedilla 2075 calories!! French Toast 1369 cals! That alone would defiantly make me want to order something else, or go home and make myself some healthier ones!

For only 210 calories you can make 3 slices for yourself with the recipe link below! That's 4 times LESS!!! Unbelievable!

I love the Cheesecake factory too but agree its too rich/calorie dense.  I've made this place kinda a "girls night out" place.  My friend and I will go, order a cocktail each, then split an appetizer and dessert.  Even with splitting an APPETIZER I leave full, but not disgustingly full like if I were to eat an entree.

i've never heard of the cheesecake factory but - come on.  they sell what people buy.  supply and demand, folks.

to be honest not surprised at the cals. Its a fast food restraunt they dont have to make it super healthy. If im going out to a place like that I usually plan to indulge in my cals. but thats like a once in a while thing.

I absolutely agree! I will admit, I was a little taken aback by the calorie counts, but still, even if you are working hard to lose weight, you still have to live in the real world.  When I come upon things like this, it forces me to think about a gameplan for when I find myself in a "high calorie situation"

uuggghhh...This is the place I need to go to....Jeez...you know how hard it is to try to take in 6000 cals on a daily basis?...lol....I may pay them weekly visits for a boost in cals......

mmmmmmmm....Tongue out

"Why should this not be allowed"?!? Well, if an "average" woman can eat 2000 calories p/day, and an "average" man 2500, then I don't think that resturants should sell things that are four fiths, or the WHOLE of your calorie allowance. No wonder America has the highest obesitey rate if you think that "regulate yourself, not others" is ok, when the majority of people don't think to look up calories (people not dieting etc.) I hate all the American chains coming to Britain. I don't want to eat a 2000 calorie meal without realising thanks.

Also, the information should be on the menu... it is disgusting!

yes i definitely think its the portion sizes that are the problem. i never eat my entire meal there, half or less i would say but still it is shocking that they serve a plate with over 2000 cals on it as a meal, along with bread and the sides, and its the cheesecake facotry so who doesnt eat cheesecake when they are there? i'm going to japan at the end of the month and i am excited to see the difference in portion sizes. i know they are much smaller, my aunt and uncle have been living over there for awhile and have said they are at least half of what is served here, maybe even a third. and yes i obviously wasn't expecting things to be low-cal but still, they should have had to post this a long time ago. if you know how bad something is and choose to eat it, then that is of your own discretion, but if you don't i just think its kind of unfair. also, ds1973, say you only eat half of your meal. it may still amount to over 1000 calories, without bread, having water to drink, no sides included, or cheesecake. being a small young woman, this is almost my entire daily allowance. it IS alot. buttonsxandxbows thats exactly what i think, if they are goingto serve this they should have to disclose their info. even mcdonalds lets you know what you're getting. the salads aren't even very healthy options. anyway ill be working out this week and eating well in preparation! haha.

No, they are much worse than others. I checked out Chevys, one of our favorites, and was appalled that the meals are generally around 800 calories - even the salads are over 500 calories.

I'm opposed to the Cheesecake Factory's ridiculous prices anyway, so no worries for me. Just another reason to hate them.

My guy took me there recently, and I've been before. I just..order whatever the Hell I want..eat as little or as much as I feel like..and enjoy it.

I'm still 114 pounds like I was before my trip..and this is after losing 16 recently.

Honestly, you can't be worrying yourself to pieces over this stuff. Enjoy, and behave the rest of the time.

The last time I went to Cheesecake Factory, I noticed that they do actually have some lower calorie/fat items on the menu....they are listed as "Weight Management" items, haha. Possibly the worst name for "healthier" menu items ever!! "Um, ya, I'll have the Weight Management Burger please..."

On another note, yes, Cheesecake Factory is not good for you. However, it is delicious. I don't eat there very often, but when I do, I enjoy it, and I ALWAYS have cheesecake! :)
