My Chemical Romance??!!
So I'm a 39 year old single Mom that LOVES music (as some of you can attest to!!). Old stuff, new stuff, weird stuff, jazz, classical, country, head-banging, punked out, hip-hoppin' ANYTHING!
I just bought four tickets online to "My Chemical Romance" (famous for "The Black Parade" song that we all know and love!). My girls (yes, they're young, soon to be 11 and 13) are SERIOUS music lovers as well, so I bought the tickets for them and their older "sister" (not biologically, but she's part of the family!....she's 22). I bought a ticket for her best friend, too. :)
So. Here's the thing. Has ANYONE seen these guys in concert before? What do I need to prepare allllllllllll my girls for? LOL. Do I need to send blindfolds with them or anything? :oD
(I'm so damned excited for them!! They're still screaming. LOL)

i personally haent seen them specifically...but i do know they have curse words in their music..which obviously wont be edited live like it is on the radio :D (dont know if you have their cd or whatnot)....but if that isnt a problem for ya (its not for me :d)...!youre a total cool mom btw!!! I had to beg my mom to come see one of my fav bands (Blue October) with me ...she insisted she was old..whatever!!! she was 52 at the time...whatever again! we had a blast! :D
Yep, I've seen them, and they are fantastic!
Sometimes they go crazy but hey, that's how they perform, but this is my opinion, not everyone has the same, so you might like it or maybe you wont, but the lead singers voice doesn't sound the same live, i admit that his voice sounds better in the songs you download or the cd's you listen to. But thats completly normal.
Anyway hope your children enjoy the concert, they will have ALOT of fun!
PS. im thinking of going to on may 2nd :)

I'm not worried about the cursing. (I mean....they have *never* heard their Mom curse or anything....*AHEM*)...LOL. My girls are totally grounded. Know what's REAL and what is ENTERTAINMENT. :)
SOOOOOOOOOOOO glad to hear they give a good show! Now I'm even MORE excited for them!
OMG, and I LOOOOOOOOOOOVE Blue October!!!

I haven't been to one of their concerts but a bunch of my friends have, and from what they have told me your in for an amazing time (They went with their mom as well and she also loved it) and they said there were loads of kids there (as young as 6/7) so I think yours should be fine. I wouldn't advise going into the mosh pit at all though (if there is one) as they are kind of dangerous, esp. for your youngest. Have fun!
YES!!!
In fact, ive seen them 5 times so far.
they are mind-blowing.
They are my favourite band =)

My Chemical Romance's newest album, "The Black Parade", is inspired by '70s glam rock...if you're a fan of some of Bowie's albums (esp. his early '70s stuff), you'd enjoy it yourself, and the tributes are clearly there.
I'd be happy to send you some songs if you'd like. If you're concerned about the performance, I'm sure you can find clips on YouTube (www.youtube.com) or through the band's website or a fansite.
They're pretty harmless. I don't recall if they swore a lot (although I find that harmless as well), but I don't think they're going to be too offensive.
