I doubt it.
Because you're only chewing, your body isn't having to digest anything.

Chewing gum will only help if like to chew things and then eat food to comfort that need.
I find it makes me really hungry though, and then when i DO eat i eat a lot more because my stomach feels oddly empty.

Hope you have a good day,
C.
You only lose weight when you consume less energy than you burn up.  If chewing gum means you aren't eating crisps then, yes, you may lose weight.

Eating small, frequent meals regularly throughout the day isn't a bad weight-loss & metabolism boosting strategy because your body has a steady supply of energy.  Chewing gum doesn't raise your metabolism.
When I first read the title I figured this was a joke.

I also doubt that it will help as far as raising your metabolism.  If you tend to snack a lot it might help to keep something in your mouth.

The best way to raise metabolism is to exercise.
LOL...

Not sure if it increase your metabolism, but you should stay away from lip gloss...I hear its super high in calories.

Well, first I have to observe that you're supposed to chew gum, not eat it.   When people mentioned more frequent smaller meals, they were referring to real food amounting to about 200-250 cals - chewing gum isn't even comparable.

Now, as already mentioned, if it prevents you from over indulging in snacks (like it does with me), yeah, it will help you lose weight, but with any healthy eating plan, exercise is key in improving your metabolism and health.

i'll go with the rest and disagree. doubt it will increase your metabolism.

but one thing for sure, over-chewing of gum will actually increase the size of your jaw, ending up with broad jaws. oh well.

I dont think chewing gum helps lose weight but I chew it all the time and it helps me keep myself from overeating

Geeze people give her a break. Eating smaller meals five or six times a day has been said to raise metabolism, but these meals should be 300 calories or so, depending on how many calories you consume a day. You don't actually eat gum you just chew it, so it most definitely won't raise your metabolism. I do find gum helpful though in that if I just ate and I feel hungry I drink a glass or so of water and then chew a piece of gum, that way I get full of water and still get the chewing thing. It helps me with over snacking.
