So, the problem is, what do I do about chewy?! I've tried gum, and it's not what I want. I used to get things like candy bars but I just want the chewy food, not the junk. Does anybody have any suggestions?
When I want chewy, I get Larabars, Clif Zbars, or Luna bars; fruit leathers; raisins, dried dates, or dried apples; cheese sticks...
Maybe something sweet that isn't too bad, like a tootsie roll?
How about jerky? I like mars's suggestion of dried fruits
well the title of your post immediately made me think of CHEWY BARS by quaker..the granola chewy ones are like 90 calories...and there's a ton of flavors!! fiber one bars, gummy bears, marshmallows [all sugar but chewy and low cal]. hmmm...that's all i can think ok. dried fruit seems best as mars already said.
there are sugar-free gummy candies you can buy nowadays, they're pretty low-cal :)
I agree with Chrissy1988. Chewy bars by Quaker are nice! I'm not a huge chewy person but that is my chewy food of choice
Granola bars are a great idea but I seem to have the same problem that many people do on here (eat one, eat the box).
I'll get some dried fruit today and see if that does the trick.
Thanks everyone!
Granola bars like Quaker 90 calorie are so small and mainly sugar (obvious when you pull them apart and the syrup stretches), but that's not why I don't like them. The Quaker ones have partially hydrogenated oils even if the box says 0g of trans fat. Food manufacturers still have too many loopholes... You basically have to read the ingredient lists now if you want to catch everything.
My first thoughts were dried fruit (like apricots) and fruit leathers. Nice and chewy! Also, I'm quite a fan of Kashi's chewy granola bars, especially the dark chocolate cherry ones.
You mentioned candy bars, which makes me think about caramel. What about small, individually wrapped caramels? I can't imagine those would be very high in calories for 1...
