Chicago Area Cyclists
Hi Everyone,
I live in Aurora and love to ride my bike. Unfortunately the forecast for tomorrow looks like rain but i'm always interested in having group rides in the fox valley / fox river trail area.
Perhaps we could use this post for fellow bikers to find other people in the area to bike with. Post where you bike and see if anyone shares a similar route? Hey it could work!
Hallo! I live in the city and as a result, have never had the pleasure of taking my bicycle out on an actual trail. It'd be great to organize something like that and I'd be happy to hop on the train to do it. Well, probably.
I love riding my bike on trails. I don't get a chance to do it often but love the scenery when I do. I use the Sauk Trail route. It starts on the western outskirt of Brookfield Zoo's north parking lot. The trail has its own parking lot and it's free of course. The actual route (on the website) claims it's about 6.5 miles but I know for a fact that it keeps going past that. I've only taken it as far as Oak Brook before I had to turn around. I biked from my house to the trail and then did the trail so all in all that ride was about 24 miles.
I used to live in the suburbs of Chicago near Schaumburg and I always rode the Busse woods trail. Now I live in the city and I ride when I can. It's a little different riding with cars wizzing past you. I would be down for a trip out to the suburbs for a trail ride. You wouldn't happen to have an extra geared road bike so I could keep up do you? :-) I'm about a 54-56cm. I ride a fixed in the city to moderate my speed but its nice to be able to open up on a trail.
