How much chicken breast can I eat? Please help!

Quote  |  Reply

Not sure what category my chicken breast fits into.  I usually cube boneless, skinless chicken breast put it into a skillet that I have put just a bit of olive oil so that it doesn't stick and cook.  Is that consideredfried?  Should I use cooking spray?  What does stewed chicken mean? I have been using the fried chicken breast nutritional description because I don't want to cheat but I'm not sure???

Find the entry in the database for raw chicken, light meat  http://caloriecount.about.com/calories-chicke n-broilers-fryers-light-meat-i5039  and enter the amount you used.   If you used a teaspoon of olive oil enter that next.   Then you should have an accurate total for the chicken + the oil.

'Fried chicken' would probably assume complete immersion in oil.... not the same thing at all.   'Stewed' I think means cooked in a sauce e.g. a casserole.

If you tend to cook from scratch (and that's by far the best thing to do) you might find the 'Recipe Analyser' facility useful.  You can add all the ingredients of your dish... meat, oil, vegetables, etc.... and work out the total calories quite quickly.
