Chicken losing its charm?

Quote  |  Reply

I use to love chicken, I ate it daily and now it's getting to the point where I could either take it or leave it.

I had a peice sauted in spices tonight with some pasta and I barely got through the whole thing...it was only 100grams uncooked.

I'm trying to figure out what I can do to still get my protein for the day, my first thought is beans.  Any one have any more ideas?

Salmon? It's so versatile and tasty.

Have you ever had smoked salmon? It's like candy.

ah I should have mentioned...I do not like fish at all. hahaha

How about turkey?  Or game (even though it's really expensive, the taste is so worth it!)  And if all fails, you can always do eggs - they're so versatile.

- Turkey Breast

- Chicken Breast Sausage

- Hard Boiled Eggs (or poached or scrambled or sunny side over)

- Ground Free Ranged Red Meats (or in steak form)

- Hemp Seeds

lean red meat never hurt anyone!

lean pork rounds, less fat than chicken!

TOFU! It's pretty yummy,, and you can make a lot of different dishes with that.. in salads, in soups, stirfries...

Lentils and chickpeas? Beans? I'm not a vegetarian but these are all a regular part of my diet.

Thanks for the suggestions!!

What's wrong with trying some other meats instead of chicken? Anyone would get sick of having the same meat day in and day out.

Pork is very lean nowadays if you get the tenderloin or a strip roast or boneless chops. Buffalo is super-lean. If you can get hold of it kangaroo is super-lean as well and high in iron and protein. And eggs are a great protein source that's also very cheap.

Bison! It's really tasty and much more lean than beef.

Venison? I am also a fan of ham, especially off the bone.

I focus on eating vegetarian. I can eat A LOT more food this way and keep my calorie counts low. I supplement protein after my work outs...a good why protien, 1/2 banana, 1/2 cup of skim milk, ice...blend and enjoy.

You can do that and have a slim fast or myoplex earlier in the day to get your protien.

Oh, black beans are great for protein.

i actually just bought some black beans at whole foods saturday.  definitely going to put them into my diet.

I love to use them in my healthy burrito as a substitue for meat. I also love them as a side dish with onions, low fat cheese or low cal sour cream on top...

You can get pretty creative with them and they are a great substitute when eating out...especially in mexican restaurants. I believe you have to make sure they are prepared without lard.
