Had too much chicken...toxicish?

Quote  |  Reply

So today at dinner I was realllllllllllllly hungry and over the course of thirty minutes I ate probably around 10-12oz of chicken breast (along with some veggies/potatoes)...and I know thats a huge amount...and now four hours later I still feel a little nauseous (and completely appetite-less...esp for chicken) and I feel like I can't get the taste of chicken out of my mouth and stuff (gross I know)

My question is...is there anything bad that can result from eating that much chicken/protein in such a short span of time and anything i should/shouldn't eat/do? I'm just feeling a bit chicken'd out

...oh and in case u were wondering I didn't "binge" on chicken because i was depriving myself all day...I did have an adequate breakfast/lunch/snack earlier on in the day...

any input would be super helpful

Don’t worry, you nothing bad will happen to you from having that much chicken!

It is no different to over doing it with chocolate or other foods - too much of something can make you feel sick of it, but you can’t OD

Too much of ANY food is a strain on your body, but the chicken doesn’t contain anything bad in it unlike chocolate or other treat food.

You CAN OD on certain vitamins, like too much vitamin A or D can be toxic, but you need them in EXTREMELY large amounts to get them to that level! You need to take supplements to OD on vitamins.

Yeah, I wouldn't worry too much. Other than a mild stomach ache, you should be okay. =)

Thanks :) Thats reassuring to know

haha I'm in college and its rare that our cafeteria has decent tasting meat so i guess I was just overdoing it since its so rare around here.

Seriously I wouldn't call 10oz of chicken as a lot. It's what like one medium or on larger side chicken breast?

In some restaurants don't they challenge people to eat a 32oz steak or something else equally gluttonous?   Usually with a classy name like "The Gut Buster..."    Apart from the risk of belly-ache I don't think there would be any permanent damage!

well if you start to grow feathers & pecking at stuff, maybe you should see the dr.

you're fine, believe me. My father could eat a whole rotissere chicken by himself (you know, the ones they sell in the supermarket)... and he survives. lol.

I just want to let you know that I eat about 12 to 13 ounces of lean protein in one sitting every single day for both of the meals I eat in a day... So in total I typically eat about 24 to 30 ounces of lean protein daily which includes chicken & turkey breast, free-ranged red meats, egg whites & fish
