Child care and Reclining with Baby?
According to CC, Reclining with Baby spends 181 calories/hour and Child care is almost 300? Is this accurate? I'm mostly a sedentary person so does taking care of my baby really burn calories?
i don't know about "reclining w/ baby", but taking care of your child does burn calories. say you change 5 diapers a day and each time takes 5 minutes, that's 25 minutes a day and there's a choice of "child care: sitting/changing/dressing baby" so pick that and put 25 minutes. it's not like you're doing aerobics or anything, but ANY movement you perform burns calories...chewing, drinking, breathing, etc. actually, many of the calories you consume get burned off by the simple act of digestion...the trick to losing weight is burning more calories than you consume, which doesn't really work if you're breast feeding.
i'm reading the Abs Diet for Women book right now. i skimmed the whole thing last night. it has a LOT of good info...meal plans, power foods, even a chapter at the end for modifying the plan to fit your needs (wanting to get pregnant, pregnant, post-partum, breast feeding, etc)...one thing they stress is this: cardio is important, BUT your metabolism will stay raised for MUCH longer after doing resistance training/weight lifting than after cardio.
for every pound of muscle you gain, your body will burn 50 more calories a day just to keep that muscle alive...therefore, gain muscle and your metabolism will go up and you will burn more calories at rest. BUT you won't necessarily lose a LOT of weight...b/c muscle weighs more than fat...my attitude towards that is "i don't care what i weigh. i only care about how i look and feel"
Is my sodium intake too low?
You have nothing to worry about because sodium deficiency is extremely rare. In fact, there is not even an recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA... Read more
