Chinese Birth Calendar...anybody believe in it?

Quote  |  Reply

Some calendars that use the age at conception say I'm having a girl, but others who use my lunar age which is 34 and the lunar month of conception say I'm having a boy. Which one is correct? What do you all believe? I want a girl!

It was wrong for BOTH my kids, so I'd say no.  Heh.

chinese with age of conception actually worked for every1 in my family...lol.

so yeah i guess i'd pretty much trust it. But I don't think it's right for you to say that you want a girl cuz if its a guy he will feel it. no offence.

But congrats nonetheless!!! Kiss

LOL!  I've actually read articles about that.  And I think my nephew is an example of how wanting a girl with all your heart can go horribly wrong.

That said:

I desperately wanted girls.  I can't even see myself raising a boy.  I wasn't shy about that fact.  I was sure #1 was a girl from the moment I took the test.  #2 I wasn't so sure about, but I had strong hopes.  They were both girls.

I don't go in for the Chinese calendar predictions.  They weren't right for me.

I'm not saying I'll be dissapointed, it's just that it's my first and probably only child and I'm looking forward to dressing my little girl in frilly pink dresses. I dreamed I had a boy and he was so precious and chubby. :)

I don't believe in it, but my sister-in-law and I looked at the Chinese calendar predictor just for fun.  Hers said boy and mine said girl.  We're both due at the same time, and according to our ultrasounds, the calendar was right for both of us!  I think it's just coincidence, though.
Here's an old thread with several gender predictors.  All 3 of them said I was having a girl.  I still think it's just a coincidence, though. :)

I knew what both mine were.  No explanation.  I just knew.  I have a boy and a girl and they are both awesome.  I will say this about boys, though - They love their mamas!

well to be honest they have about a 50/50 chance of being correct for a singleton pregnacy.

They were all correct for having a boy for my self.  I knew around 14 weeks i was having a boy. I had would have strong intense dreams of what he looked like and how big he would be at birth.

I didn't have a U/S until around 29 weeks and a boy was confirmed. The U/S tech was laughing because we kept calling the baby a He but didn't know we were having a boy until the very end of the U/S.

Trust your new mother's intuition, dreamin about a boy, probably a boy.

By the way, did you tell your family yet?

It's crap. The phase of the moon and what some crazy chinese people made up about it have absolutely nothing to do with which of your man's sperm fertilized your egg.

BTW, CONGRATULATIONS!!! :)

Yes I told my family a while ago. I can't wait to find out what it is. I'm obsessed with knowing. One reason I want a girl is that I have a few people already offering to give me brand name brand baby girl clothes. It would really help me alot!

Hi, you know, I'm not a big fan of things like this but. . .  I did it for a lark and it got the sex right on all three of my kids.  I used lunar age.

Sandra

I'd go with the dream.  Worked for me!

I think it was right with my first two but wrong with my last one.  Babyman.net i think said i was having a girl and it was wrong i had a boy!! But he was right with both my first two.

I read in recent studies that the lunar calender predictions are only 75% accurate when done CORRECTLY. Many women don't know that their chinese year at conception is usually one year older than actual age.

Mine was correct for me son, and my sisters was correct for her son.

It says this next one will be a girl but who knows.
