Hi Jennifersowell,

I remember that you posted something about cravings a few days ago.  I responded with a jello pudding recipe, and I was wondering if you tried it.

The reason I ask is:  I also crave chocolate.... I would like to join the challenge, but I know myself and I know that I would be setting myself up for future failure if I deprive myself of all things chocolate!  I could do it for a few days maybe, but then I know I will binge on it.

SO.... thats kinda why I suggest that chocolate pudding.  You can satisfy that craving without going overboard and blowing your diet.

Good luck!
I'm so in!  Like I said in the cravings forum, I've got a good feeling about today.  My husband has all the chocolate up in his office with him, so that will help me not to pig out.  I've had only two chocolate mini-eggs today, and a light low-cal mocha I made.  We can do it!
I'm in...I'm just trying to kick binging to the curb altogether...but yes chocolate is definitely a toughy for me and almost every woman. :)
I would deffinatly like to join....

I binged BAD last night on chocolate...I can't even log it exactly because I can't remember exactly what all I ate :( . So today I am very ready to try and get my chocolate excess under control. We have easter candy in the house (still!) and I think that the rest of it is going in the garbage tonight!
Hi Marlasinger,

I have not had time to get to the grocery store to buy some Jell-O, but I will buy some this weekend when I do my big grocery shopping.  I cannot wait - I printed the receipt, so I am excited to try it and I will keep you posted!!!
Sounds good Jennifersowell!  I wish you the best of luck with everything.

Like I said, I hope that this will help you satisfy your chocolate craving without going overboard.

Hmm.. did you ever hear of Almond Breeze Unsweetened Soy Milk?  It only has like 40 calories in 8 oz, and its great if you add some splenda to it!
I would like to be part of this. I binged on Chocolate cookies today. Not happy with myself. I did get rid of all snack food in house. But had to make cookies to serve guest. Lots of cookies were left.........I was the cookie monster. I feel horrible now, but will start over. I'm so bad. LOL
I would like to join as well. I am going to try to go 2 weeks without any chocolate, and then I will add it back into my diet as a treat every once in a while instead of the daily over indulgence it has become for me. So do we just kind of post in here everyday to let everyone know how we did? I would find that helpful, to have to account for myself.
Another chocolate binger here!

I've been very good recently. I only had one small blip at easter (just one egg and two packs of smarties) and since then I've only had one 95 cal bar.

The problem is my time of the month - the week before it the sugar craving starts and I have to have sweet food. The craving lasts around a week and a half. Does anyone else have this problem?
Okay, we've now moved the big box of chocolate up to my husbands office at the church (he's a youth minister).  So it's out of my life!!  Woowoo!

So now I should be set, I've got a small box of mocha mix, but it's a little hard to binge on that.  :)  The next step is not to be tempted by the check-out aisles at Wal Mart.
Emmylou, sadly I can never tell if my cravings are period-related or not, 'cause I get them all the time!!  I usually attribute them to that, though, when it rolls around.  It just makes me feel better about it.
I did awesome last night.  I restricted myself to my 60 calorie Chocolate pudding snack and then a small glass of Chocolate Milk.  I did good.  I restrained and held-out.  Ironically, it is PMS time and I still held out.  I am so proud.  Let's see if I can go day 3 without a binge.  Good Luck EVERYONE!!!!
OK  I really need this challenge :(  I recently bought a bag of dark chocolate baking chips at the grocery store for baking.  I ended up breaking into them on the way home.........so........I hid them in my glove compartment thinking I would keep them for emergency cravings.  yeah right.  I finally had to give them up to my hubby and ask him to toss them.  Once I start eating chocolate I can't stop !!!!!  And for me.........pudding won't help - I need real chocolate.  HELP !!!
im in!!   def no chocolate for me!!!
I wish I could say no chocolate, but then I would have a massive binge.  Therefore, I am learning to control my chocolate with MODERATION.

Laurieviscomi:  We're are here to help - what about buying a small bag of chocolate candies and having your husband keep them in a safe place - then once a day you ask him for a bar.  ONLY ONE!!!  Or you can buy Nesquik FAT FREE Chocolate Milk.  Granted it has sugar in it, but it is only 160 calories for 1 cup.  Now, that has a rich chocolate taste to me.

GOOD LUCK!!!
Laurieviscomi, I'm definitely with jennifersowell's suggestion to have your husband hold onto the chocolate.  Make sure you specify that he is only to allow you one per day!  (My husband is always glad when I eat chocolate.  He's like "you should eat some, it makes you happy, you're beautiful the way you are."  Thanks hun.)
how long are we talking here?
This is NOT restricting chocolate - we're simply having chocolate in moderation - therefore, having chocolate without going over our Caloric Intake.  You can have it - just in MODERATION!!!
Oh...well hell if I'm going to restrict myself from it I'll just not eat it for a week. I went 40 days without it during Lent. And I've yet to overload on it. This shouldn't be a problem for me.
I went 46 whole days without chocolate for lent!!!

I mean, talk about the hardest thing Ive ever done. Nobody believed I could do it, which pushed me that much more. What was so painful was all of my favorite easter candies were out (mini-cadburry eggs anyone??) as well as GIRL SCOUT COOKIES ( I could survive on somoa and thin mints forever). Torture times two.

But I did it, and I am so proud of myself. It really did make me appreciate how yummy ichocolate is, but also how important it is to savor it! Instead of wasting calories on mediocre candy bars and diet snacks, it taught me to save those calories for when it is truly worth it (Sprinkles dark chocolate cupcakes - 500 calories of sheer bliss.)

I dont think I will ever be able to give it up again, but it is nice to know I can. I highly recommend this challenge to help appreciate chocolate more as well as push your self!

Good Luck!
