Chocolate for the body, mind and soul

Of course we love chocolate, we wouldnt be here if we didnt it :P

Anyway, I want to give and recieve ideas for how to use and enjoy chocolate in the healthiest ways possible.

Exp: carob is a bean that is a good substitute for chocolate, and the darker the cocao, the more flavanoids and anitoxidant it has for you.

I like having some 80% dark with a cup of tea and some grapes or raspberries.

Lets work together to loose weight, exchange recipes, love life and being the happy and free people we are meant to be!Laughing

No matter what kind of chocolate you choose to enjoy small amounts is the secret.  Some weeks I will have chocolate everyday.  Others not at all but when I choose to enjoy it I eat small amounts.  I freeze it, it's a great way to enjoy it and it last longer.

NOBODY SHOULD HAVE TO GIVE UP CHOCOLATE!!! Smile

My problem with chocolate is that it is an addiction.  If I have even a small piece a day I soon begin having a craving for it.  I mean a physical craving.  I have found that I do best if I don't have any at all.  After 2 weeks without chocolate the physical craving goes away.  It makes me sad but I have to put my health first.  I don't have this problem with other sweets, I can take them or leave them.  Are there others out there who have this problem.

I have the same problem. If I have one piece of chocolate I can't stop and it sets me off on a binge where I will eat it everyday. I  do find that I can have 70% cacao and it does not have the same effect. It is not my favorite but it satisfies the craving and I can eat only one or two oz at a time

Thanks Carol, most people think I'm nuts.  They just don't seem to understand just how intense the physical craving is.  For those who can have dark chocolate and the such I am glad for you.  But please realize that for some people it really is an addiction.
