Chocolate cake in the break room!
I work with a bunch of sadists! Monday someone brought in a platter of cinnamon rolls and today there is a huge, gooey chocolate cake. I didn't indulge in either treat and instead ate my 60 calorie sugar free jello pudding, but man, they are killing me! Anyone else have similar problems?
At the start of the week my gym had chocolate cake sitting at the exit door free for anyone passing...
That is one day that I was glad I am gluten intolerant! (Shame the same doesn't apply to birthdays
)
I have this problem...
Today is my last day and my coworkers decided to get some cake to mourn my leaving...I have no choice but to eat it!
I live with my boyfriend and his parents buy all sorts of treats! It drives me crazy. Also, my friends in school love to munch on snacks such as Pocky or Oreos. :\
Pocky is amazingggg though. And some of them aren't to high in cals drift!
this is my downfall. i work at a school and there is something evil in the staff room about 3/5 days. often many things. UGH. i pack a perfect low cal lunch and snacks and then boom, i'm eating a cheese enchillada or an oreo. so many of us are struggling w/ our weight. we should start a revolution.
Raynsong, I work at a school too. Many of the people I work with could stand to lose some weight but I would never dare tell them that. Perhaps is all the cinnamon rolls and chocolate cake.
BTW, I did end up indulging in a very small piece of chocolate cake after lunch. It just looked too delicious to pass up. I traded it for my 100 calorie snack pack. I'll take a little longer run tonight to compensate!
Yes, where I work when it is someone's birthday they bring donuts for everyone. So that happens a lot. Vendors send in snack food, cookies, cakes all the time and then we have lots of bakers. Cookies, brownies, pie, cake. It is horrible. I resist and come back to my office and eat my morning snack but it is hard.
Once a week I eat desert and it is TONIGHT!!! I love it. Look forward to it all week.
No problems here. Where's your break room?
I came out of the holidays with stomach flu, and dropped 8 lbs of goodie-induced weight in 2 days.....I'm ready for a little key lime pie now.....
Surprisingly we haven't had any treats in the office, but I'm sure it's coming one weeek we had 2 birthdays, and of course they bought cake TWICE that week. Cake is my weakness.

Mine too. I can resist most things but cake is just irresistible. Cake with ice cream is even worse! And layer cake with whip cream frosting. Oh my gosh.
I remember those days. I'm retired now, but used to be in purchasing. One of the salesmen lived near the Godiva chocolate factory and he'd buy big bags of their seconds and bring them to me. I used to take them down to the loading dock and let all the fit young men gobble them up so I wouldn't be tempted.
We also had someone who came in with huge boxes of fresh Krispy Kreme doughnuts, and another one who would bring bagels.
The temptation was just overwhelming. Why don't they think? I mean there I was a fat lady sitting there and they are bringing me this stuff.
You poor thing. does it have chocolate icing too? (groan)
Someone at my work brought in a huge bowl (punch bowl, I believe) full of Hershey's Kisses. Now I'll admit that we're a group that needs to get some exercise and cut back on the snacks, not just me. But I couldn't keep myself away from the stupid things. Every time I walked past the break room, I'd snatch one or two. Unfortunately, I can't avoid the break room as it's right next to both the bathroom and the door to the parking lot.
How about THIS one....
One of my coworkers is going to school to be a chef.
Every other three weeks they do kitchen stuff...the other 3 they do lecture.
When they're doing kitchen stuff she brings all her leftovers to work, and writes on the cover, "Help yourself!"
On top of that, we have luncheons and cakes for birthdays.
Today, there was a fruit tart ( i picked off a strawberry and a slice of kiwi, and got a little taste of the creamy filling. that satisfied my sweet tooth) and a cherry pie with a latticework crust. What IS a girl to do?!?!?!
I just did a rant about this in another thread and then saw this. lol We have goodies every day at work it seems. And there is this very nice, tiny lady that I work with that has meetings and at the meetings they serve cookies and drink. She always brings the leftover cookies back to our office. And she always comes to me first (as the resident fatty, I guess) and offers me first choice. I always politely decline and she keeps on with am I sure, she wants to be sure I get the one I like. I politely decline again and does that stop her? No! She says well just take one for later if you don't want it right now. If a fat person declines cookies twice in a row, get a clue and go away! I finally took one to stop her from waving them under my nose. As soon as she left the room, I wrapped it in a napkin and crushed it to pieces, then took it to the bathroom and flushed it. I am sure she is just trying to be nice, but one of these days I'm going to grab the whole plate of cookies out of her hand and throw it at her.
I used to have a pick-up that was 100% fueled by propane. The place where I had to buy my propane was right next door to an Archway Cookie plant. Oh man, getting off work at 3:30, semi hungry was shear torture. All I could smell was gingersnaps, and that was over and beyond the smell of the propane.
I did survive. :>D
I work in a cafe-restaurant so not only do I take people meals, I have to work with muffins, cakes, slices etc, and make insane amounts of milkshakes, iced coffees, smoothies, hot chocolates etc.
My brings in a new treat from the nearby bakery almost every day.
I don't feel guilty at all snatching a cinnamon roll when I feel like it. After all, it's not a starvation camp, if you want it VERY much, then you should have it.
If it's a treat I really really want, I'll take some - but a teeny tiny little piece. Fortunately, there haven't been too many treats lately.
