Chocolate in the house

Quote  |  Reply

My aunt gave me some dark chocolate truffles and a bag of Italian chocolate chip cookies as a part of my Christmas gift. The thing is, I've already eaten the bag of cookies and since I don't like the inside of truffles, I like to eat the outer chocolate shell. I can't stop eating them! Should I throw them out? =S I HATE not having self-control!

I would. I have no qualms about wasitng food that makes me fat.

lol you're so right. Thank you so much for your feedback hahaha. I just felt guilty but I should feel MORE guilty for eating them! Plus I'm throwing out something with pretty much zero nutritional value!

Thanks!

I'm a teacher so I received a lot of chocolate from students.

Anyway, I gave them to neighbours and friends to enjoy. :) Throwing them out would be a waste. (I too love chocolate - one of my students gave me chocolates from Leonidas. It was sad to part with them! haha)

The way I like to look at it (and thanks to the cc'er who gave me this idea!) is that if you eat the chocolates, they still go through your body and end up as "waste", so regardless of whether they go in the bin or down the toilet, it's all the same except the bin option won't expand your hips!

Still - if you have people you can give them to - that's good too!

The amount of christmas cookies and chocolate I threw out last night seemed like such an enormous waste but it's not going to do me any good to pick at them every time I walk past them, sometimes you have to just clean out the kitchen and it may seem like a waste but really it would only have resulted in bad bad things showing up on the scale

Put the chocolate somewhere hard to reach. :P

i have the same problem- and theres no arguing or feeling guilty. if you can enjoy it without loosing control, just use strategies to help like putting them somewhere you never see them, or saying you cant have them at a certain time. but if you just cant stop yourself, it's hurting you more than helping, so if you dont wana be wasteful give them to friends or family, or just throw them out because it's going to be worse if you dont! =)

You're wasting the truffles already in only eating the outer shell! I'd give them to someone who'll actually enjoy them and not pick at them.

Or you can make/bake something with the inner bits.. be creative. ;)

share them! at least that way you won't be eating all of them, so it won't be so nutritionally horid, your brain can't tell the difference in that it's only eating something yummy, and you'll have someone to be a particularly good freind to you as you give them nice truffles!

that's what i would do at least...
