delicious and very rich chocolate biscotti with a zing of flavor that will satisfy those chocolate cravings without those nasty calories! :) i love them!!! *they are lower calorie than recipe says becuase splenda has no calories in it

Recipe Ingredients for chocolate walnut biscotti ~ about 80 calories

3 tablespoons margarine, softened
1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup splenda
2 eggs
1 tbsp coffee
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup baking cocoa
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 cup walnuts

Recipe Directions for chocolate walnut biscotti ~ about 80 calories

  1. in a mixing bowl, beat the margarine, sugar and splenda into a soft crumbly mixture

  2. add the eggs and coffee; mix well

  3. then mix in the flour, cocoa, baking powder/soda salt and spices until a sticky dough forms

  4. mix in the walnuts

  5. grease a cookie sheet and your hands with no-calorie spray; then place the dough on the cookie sheet and form a 14X6 in (around there- can make and measurements) rectangle

  6. bake at 350 degrees F for 20 minutes

  7. take them out of the oven and allow them to cool for 5 minutes - then cut them into 16 or so slices (i usually get 17) about 3/4 in wide

  8. turn the cookies onto one side an dbake for another 5 minutes - then remove from oven and turn them onto their other sides and bake 5 more minutes

  9. enjoy with coffe or tea - c'etait deliceux! :)
