chocolates diet
I'm now trying a chocolate diet or sorta.. not sure if it works though.. need people opinion..sometimes i just wanted to eat chocolates and i just had a whole bar but i have no lunch.. so is it ok?
Yeahhhhh . . . that sounds like a bad idea to me. If you like chocolate, just work it into your meal plan (i.e. have a lighter lunch and have some chocolate for dessert).
But don't skip a whole meal for a chocolate. Bad idea.
but it won't like make you gain weight or stuff right? if i kept into my calories-per-day plan.. i just did that sometimes ..
you would lose weight. but you'd be malnourished and unhealthy and probably get really hungry and make it hard to stick to your plan.
You'd have a sugar rush, and then you'd crush and burn . . . meaning that you'd have no energy whatsoever. You'd be really tired and malnourished, which might lead you to eat more anyway.
Just eat a healthy lunch. Your body will thank you for it.
well, weirdly, i feel fuller and more energize eating 1/2 bar of chocolates for a longer period than 1 whole pineapple with few sandwiches.. although i do agree on the malnourished part, so i only have the chocolate for main meals in case i need binging in..
You will feel fuller for a bit due to the fats and milk content, but I don't see how you can consider a candy bar a replacement for a meal.
1 bar = 43g = 210 calories. (13g fat/8g Sat. Fat)
For 210 calories, you can a have a 3oz steak (85g / 158 cals) and about a half cup of corn (73g / 63 cals)--which is pretty high in calories as far as veggies go.
Ok, so that that is 221 calories....but you are getting much better nutrition, 158g of food (allmost 4x as much mass) and a ton more protein.
Fad diets do not work. Giving your body the proper fuel will make you less hungry and slow/stop cravings. Anytime you can say "The ________ Diet" it is probably a bad ideal long term.
PS, 158 grams of a Hershey bar? 771 calories....That is a third of my calories from junk--and I am 6'3 and 327 lbs.
Having some chocolate & compensating now and then obviously isn't going to kill you. Ideally you would just have a small amount of some really good chocolate and move on. The BEST thing is to eat a good balance of fat/protein/carbs so that you're not craving it to start with. Nutritionists recommend getting more of your cals, esp protein, early in the day to avoid the cravings.
Also depends on a chocolate. I am a bit of a chocolate and cheese snob. :) Personally I don't consider Hershey stuff a chocolate. It's candy. I like the ones sold at Trader Joe bitter sweet, or with high % of cocoa. Now that is chocolate! ![]()
i would not have it as a meal replacement. If you'd like to incorporate it as a 'treat' then maybe you can go with a square of dark chocolate, at least it has health benefits w/ the antoxidants!
I eat candy when I have the calories available, before and during exercise. The sugar rush is good when I need the energy. But that's on top of eating a normal diet for my BMR calories. I wouldn't drop the peanut butter, yogurt, whole wheat bread, tuna, cottage cheese, vegetables, salads, fruit, etc. and try to live on all candy bars. My blood glucose would go through the roof.

i do understand the difference in mass and nutrition.. i'd have follow your way if i could manage to keep under control.. the problem with me is i had no self control.. when i started eating, i must continue eating till me stomach's like what- 3 months pregnant?. and when i first started eating back chocolates recently, i found out i can take quite a long time to finish one.. Longest record is more than 30 minutes for one 12g chocolate.. If i don have choky i'll most probably feed off on bread and fruits x 10..
I always have chocolate at home. I eat dark chocolate almost everyday, 20 or 40 g of Lindt 70% dark chocolate (110 or 220 cals) and I have a 1600 cal diet. Dark chocolate is great for the mood, specially when I feel some anxiety or restlessness. It is not as sweet as other candy bars and more satisfying, go for the cocoa content not the sugar. And since I'm not depriving myself from it and have it readily available, I don't feel like binging. After 6 months of smart eating, and chocolate everyday, I lost 54 pounds and no binging at all.
i didn't buy chocolate dark. Its too expensive for someone like me who spend not earn. so i would just buy milk chocolate instead.. cheaper.. 200 cal per bar..
That is why chocolate is a treat/indulgence not a meal replacement. ;)
