I usually keep some dehydrated fruit in my room, so if a snack attack ever hits I'm not tempted to run down to the kitchen because I have something healthy close at hand that doesn't go bad too fast.
Well, today the grocery store didn't have any good mixes or anything so I bought a container of chopped dates, thinking it would work just as well. I forgot how sweet these are. I ate one about 3 little nuggets (they are very small) and was done. So I guess that is good...but now I have a huge container of chopped dates that might last me forever if I eat them this way!!
Any good ideas for these things? I could keep them in my room but I definitely don't need this much, what can I do with them?

you could mix them into your cereal or oatmeal.
i always buy me the whole pitted dryed dates. they are better than candy. i like to cook and bake, so i usualy put them in oatmeal or muffins.
Oh my god. Date scones. Seriously. NO rival.
2 c flour (try using half an half)
3/4 c sugar (splenda would probably work out nicely)
2tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp ground ginger (but I've used nutmeg, too!)
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 c soy (err these are vegan) margarine
1/3 c pitted dates
1/4 c soymilk
egg replacer for 2 eggs (try one whole banana)
Making these with sugar and cutting into 16 pieces before baking (@ 425 for 12-15 mins) yields a 160 cal treat.

I have prunes and low them in oatmeal or rolled in bran/wheat germ. Surely you could do something similar.
