***Christian Calorie Counters (CCC) Continues***

Quote  |  Reply
Greetings to all. This thread is being started to continue, not to abandon, the old thread, Christian Calorie Counters. Thank you Danceswithforks for that wonderful thread.

This thread is for the purpose of lifting up our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and in doing so, encouraging and motivating one another on their weight Loss and weight maintenance journey, and encouraging each other in life itself.

So please come and share your needs, share your successes, encourage one another, and help us motivate each other, all in the love of the Lord.

There is an ongoing challenge if you would like to participate. It starts on the first of every month and ends at the first of the next month. On the first of the month, you come to this thread and post your weight and your 3 core measurements (chest, waist, hips). Then throughout the month you collect points for different categories of the challenge. Each week you post your points for that week. The points are then updated on the thread:
Christian Calorie Counters Challenge Roster & Updates. You go to that thread just to view the list, but stay on this thread for the purpose of posting stats and points, and above all - fellowship with each other. You do NOT have to take part in the challenge in order to be a part of this group.

Wow Chrissy, what a great report! God is good! A new life physically, and it sounds like progress towards two new lives spiritually, too. Hallelujah! As far as Cooper, have you tried putting the med inside peanut butter. That always worked for me. The only other way that I had success, was literally putting it in to the back of the dog's mouth, from the side of the mouth. Then she didn't have any way of spitting it out. It won't choke him. I did that when I didn't have any peanut butter.

Sue - I'm glad you enjoyed that list. We can relate to some of it, can't we?
Good morning everyone!

Ms Chrissy, I am praying for your little Cooper to be healed of this pain. I am so sorry that he is having to go through it. It hurts me to see or hear of an animal hurt. Poor little things, they don't understand. Especially baby animals, that's the worst!  Please Rest in God's Goodness. He will heal Cooper because He is the Great animal Physican too!! Get closer to the Lord and He will get closer to you. That is one of His promises. He will give you the desires of your heart. Just believe and ask Him. I believe He led you here to our group because He knows we will pray earnestly for each other. We have a real family in here. Please bring anything you want to ask, share, or rejoice in!! Praise God for Asia! Another precious miracle. It's great how the Lord uses babies to bring others into His Kingdom! I am praying for your brother and cousin and Grandmother and you for the Holy words to speak to them!! Just ask God and He will give you the words!! Welcome to the family!!!
Good morning all!

Hello Everyone I wanted to update everyone on Samuel, the little boy from church that has cancer. He is still receiving chemo this will be his last day for now. He may be going home this weekend but the doctor told the family the hosptital will be his first home for the next year. He is up playing when just not even 2 weeks ago he was on the ventilator. There is another baby that was at Vanderbuilt Hospital that became stable enough to come back to the hospital in Knoxville that is not doing well. The baby also has cancer. She began to have seizures so they did a CT scan, she has multiple tumors in her brain. They have only given her a couple days to live. God can intervine in this , NO case is to big for him. Please pray about this. Her name is Mckenzie. I was reading in my Bible yesterday and I kept coming to verses about prayer, no matter where I turned I kept coming back to James chapter 4 and lo and behold where did our Pastor ask us to turn to last night! How can you not believe?? All of these little precious children with caner. All I can say is Even So LORD JESUS come. I guess I better close I'm drinking the water 50 ounces as of now. Spending alot of time in the bathroom!!!! Ohhh yeah Chrissy I am So glad to hear the good report. Is the medicine in pill form? I have put the pill in a piece of hot dog weiner and our stubborn dog would eat it. just a suggestion.

Hey y'all, just an FYI about the poem attributed to Maya Angelou.  She did not write it.  It was written by Carol Wimmer.  Check out this link for more info on the poem and the author: http://www.snopes.com/glurge/christian.asp

It is a great poem, just not one of Ms. Angelou's.

Jane :-)

We have tried putting his pill in a piece of hot dog. The first time we tried it, it worked like a charm. But, since then, I think he has cought on to what we are doing, and now he wont eat the hot dog. This morning, I Cut the pills in half and had to have my mother in law come down to our house and hold him (He loves his Mamaw). Then I put the pill halves in some peanut butter and stuck it way in the back of his mouth. It did the trick, but only with 2 of the 3 meds. The one he couldnt take was an antibiotic. I honestly dont think he has an infection, so I think he will be ok without that one until this evening. He will be more hungry then & that will give us more foods to work with. Thanks again for all your prayers and well wishes. To God Be Praised! Prayer works. Have a blessed day!

Chrissy
A new pastor was visiting in the homes of his parishioners. At

one house it seemed obvious that someone was at home, but no

answer came to his repeated knocks at the door.

Therefore, he took out a business card and wrote "Revelation

3:20" on the back of it and stuck it in the door.

When the offering was processed the following Sunday, he found

that his card had been returned. Added to it was this cryptic

message, "Genesis 3:10." Reaching for his Bible to check out the

citation, he broke up in gales of laughter. Revelation 3:20

begins "Behold, I stand at the door and knock." Genesis 3:10

reads, "I heard your voice in the garden and I was afraid for I

was naked."

Oh my! That was great! Too Funny!! Thank you for that
Reminds me of one of my favorite paintings "Laughing Jesus"  Laughing
I loved that Kat! Thanks for the humor. I needed it at that very moment.
Even God loves when we laugh!! I thought it was really funny too! And I needed it when it came in to me also! His timing is truly impecable!
My pain is so bad right now! Please pray. All I want to do is cry.
awww, Pam.  I'm praying for you!
Praying fervently for you Pam. I pray that Jesus eases your pain and gives you peace. James 5 verse 15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up
Ms Pam, remember when we had our kids and we were told to focus on something? Well, now you can focus on us! We are here praying for you and when you feel pain reach out to God and He will let us know and when we cry out to Him, on your behalf, He will ease your pain for you! Just focus on the words you imaging us praying for you!!!  I really am sorry you are in pain a lot! If I could do anything, let me know.........besides pray!!
Thank you Sherry, Jennifer, and Kat for your prayers. I'm still waiting for relief. Who knows, maybe if it weren't for your prayers, I would even be worse. I thank you and I thank you Lord. I know I'm starting to sound like a broken record, and I apologize for that, but it feels like a broken record too. The pain is starting to get to me.

Curly & Jen- Praise God for answered prayers!

Pam - My husband also suffers from chronic pain.  I can't imagine what he goes through on a daily basis, so I won't even attempt to imagine what you go through on a daily basis.  My husband tells me that he tries to focus on the pain and suffering that Jesus endured for our sins on the cross and the knowledge that the Almighty has bore your pain seems to ease his suffering.  I don't know if this helps, but it was put on my heart when I read your post.

Fuel Mules!!! I had my 16 oz of coffee today and then went to Starbucks with another stay home mommy and had another 16 oz of coffee (skim latte-hee hee).  However, I have also drank 64 oz of water so far.  I do most of my drinking (water that is) in the evening, so I am going to try and get up to 132 oz before the day is done.  Jen, I too have been in the bathroom alot!  What with 32 oz of coffee.

Molly and PamYou two seem to be the water guru's.  What is your opinion on this...Since I had 32 oz of caffinated coffee....do I need to increase water to make up for the diuretic effects?

That is a good question, and I don't think you have to drink extra to make up for the caffeine. Just try to drink half your weight in ounces, and you should be OK.
Mandy, if you don't mind me asking, what is the source of pain for your husband, and where does he have pain? Thank you for that visualization that you gave. By the way, very pretty picture!!!
