Christian Calorie Counters...The word Christian covers many faiths.  Baptist, Southern Baptist, Methodist, Pentecostal,  Catholics, Presbyterians and right on down the line....All FAITHS ARE WELCOME HERE

However, there is a condition-"no arguing" "with the foundation of this thread".  If you do not believe how this
thread believes you are encouraged to start your own thread with the way you see it.  There is a wide range of what Christians Believe in. That's why this thread is being started.  Just like the agnostics have their own thread and others tried to go in there & then they were kicked out for disrupting.  The same principle will apply to this thread.  If anyone disrupts in this thread they will be asked to leave either by me or a monitor.  (it's sad you gotta say these things but if you don't trouble makers come)!
However, if someone joins in this thread and really feels as a Christian they need to branch off with their beliefs they can do so and we can do it in Love.
We all know that there is a range of what Christians believe in.  That's why there are so many denominations.  So for example if you're a good baptist and only believe in getting saved but you don't belief in divine healing, that's fine.  You can start your own thread with those thoughts.  This thread though is going to talk about divine healing.  That's just one example.  This thread will be a safety net that allows me or anyone else to talk about these truths without being told to "drop it".  These principles are just to important to  drop.  And I'm going to have to add that since I'm the starter of this thread I determine what is allowed.  So, I'll take it as it comes.

The theme song for our Group:  This little light of Mine....I'm going to let it shine.  Don't let SATAN blow it out! No! I'm going to let it shine!    (he tries but to no avail)!
Our Motto:  Love & Faith

I want to Welcome you.  I roll out the RED CARPET for you to walk down so we can get a good look at you.  So smile:)) there are gals who will hand you a *Crown* another who will hand you some *Flowers* and yet another who will take your picture so *Smile*!   This is also a place to talk about our weight problems.
Learning to feed ourselves with physical food will be talked about here.  Learning to feed our spirits will be talked about here.  The entire person.  Spirit Soul and body.

If you are Not a Christian but are curious to join in....we encourage you to join in with us.  We Welcome you with open arms.  This truly is a Sanctuary of Love and Faith.  Come & Learn.... come & dine.... in our Fathers House that we've built for Him.  To lift up His Name.  To Magnify and Glorify His Name.  We want to get our temples in shape to do his will.

I look forward to hearing the future TESTIMONIES that will take place as a result of this Thread.   All Praise to God our Father and His Son Jesus who is our Lord and Savior. We also thank you for the GREAT MIGHTY HOLY SPIRIT whom you sent to us as a gift to be our guide to live big in us and lead us into all the affairs of Life.

Truly,
DancesWithForks
The leader of this thread.

Molly is the Best
Service the rest.

Nah the rest of you ROCK TOO!  I'm in a silly mood.  After all I am a woman so look out.  Oh I see I'm not in the Lounge.  I'll straighten up now.

What does this have to do with the price of potatoes?  Nothing.

Agent 7.  I finally learned my Math from the good ppl around here.
My BMR is only 1698 I think it was I rounded it up to 1700.
If you take that 1700 and subtract 500 you get 1200 calories a day to loose a pound a week.  I'm on the low end.   If I exercise I can eat a little more I'm sure.  But I try to stay in 1200-1500 range always.

Then Coach Kat came along and gave me a neat plan.  She has me doing a protein with a fruit.  OR a Protein with a Veggie.  Twice a day a healthy carb like a sweet potato which I sweeten with agave nectar and some cinn.  I'm into healthy things.  Retards the aging process and just good for ya.

However, don't get me near ice-cream it's my weakness.  Sometimes I tell myself to think "super model" they only take 2 tablespoons of ice-cream.  Have you seen MY 2 tablespoons? hehe

I'm looking at Molly's Menu and I feel like I'm at a neat restaurant.  I would imagine it would be on a huge screened-in porch of a historical home.   Maybe a male Peacock Bird walks by.  And gives that cool sound they make.   Or you could go ultra modern too.

Ok night now catch ya'll tomorrow.

heh heh heh .... Let me assure you all that I don't live in a sprawling, antebellum mansion with strutting peahens on the veranda! Actually, we live in a 2700 sq ft one-story California-ranch style home in (where else?) California! Our house was built in 1979 and has 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a swimming pool, a hot tub, and LOTS of kitty cat condos and kitty trees! I am very active with animal rescue, and our home is a sanctuary to two cute little rescue dogs (Corey and Minnie) and a bunch of furry-wonderful rescued inside-only kitty cats! (See pictures on my profile!)

Oh, people ... my husband Ron has been so wonderfully supportive and encouraging to me for the past 6 weeks ... since I started this diet.  I found out today that he has to leave soon for what will probably be a month in another state, and then sometime after the first of the year he will have to RE-deploy to Iraq. (sigh)  He just got back from Iraq in August!!! It's too soon to have him leave again!!!  It is hard being married to a wonderful, godly man who serves in the active-duty military ... I never know how long I will get to be with him before they send him away from me ... again.

I am sorry if I sound a bit down tonight. In all honesty, I AM a bit down tonight. We've only been married since 2003 and we love to spend ALL of our free time together ... we "go together like peas and carrots" and when we're not with each other, I feel like my best friend is "missing."  Of course, these times draw me closer to the Lord, but I still miss Ron terribly when we're apart.  But we both know this is his calling from the Lord, and that helps. Do you realize that he's been in the military since he was 17 years old? He is now in his 24th year of service.

My evening snacks tonight were a hardboiled egg (a whole one, woo hoo! 78 calories) and a Worldwide Protein Shake in the blender with LOTS of ice (100 calories!).

=^..^=  MOLLY

Sounds like a nice place Molly. Above ground or in-ground swimming pool. We used to have an above gound until a tree demolished it a couple of years ago. We don't have a hot tub, though. Never have. We do have 5 bedrooms and 3 baths, also. 3 bedrooms on the main level (ranch) and 2 bedrooms and a bathroom and laundry room downstairs in finished basement.

I love the way that you talk about Ron. You guys are so very close, I can tell, and I believe that is the way that a marriage should be, but oftentimes isn't. Do you have friends there that you will be able to spend time with when Ron is in Iraq?

Hang in there Molly. I pray that the Lord restore your joy tonight and help you to rest in comfort and peace tonight, awakening refreshed and exhilarated, and full of energy and joy in the Lord!

Our swimming pool is an in-ground one. We just had it refinished with Pebble-Tec this past spring. It gets sooooo hot here in the summer, I'd melt without a pool!

I do have some girlfriends here, but they all work and are pretty busy with their own lives. When Ron is gone, I do usually see them about once a week or so. For me, the evenings are the hardest -- that's when I usually spend the most time with Ron. (sigh)

I had the midnight munchies ... so I just had 6 hard-boiled egg whites (about 90 calories!)  Good thing I burned those 400 calories at the gym today, huh?

Molly,

I can relate to your anticipated loneliness when DH is away. I'm grateful that the Lord only takes mine away for a few days at a time!

But the cue here is anticipated! I've learned to cultivate things to enjoy alone that I can't enjoy when he's home...like having sole control of the TV remote...lol!! I go to the movies (or watch one on TV), with or without a friend, I soak in the tub (jacuzzi...ahhh), I read till the wee hours (we generally go to bed by 9:30 when he's home), I eat foods he won't touch (healthy ones only, of course, hehehe) and I make LOTS of phone calls!!!

So, start a list, Molly...imagine all the things you can enjoy alone! Ask God to share some good ideas with you. And remember, we're all here to be your company and support!

Sue

Good Morning everyone!! I just read this and I think It's so neat!!!

We are not human beings going through a temporary spiritual experience.

Good Morning CCC GANG

Just caught up on the posts.  Molly, I would have fun changing my appearance while he was away to surprise him.  That would be my mind set.  I enjoyed hearing about your ministry helping pets as I'm an animal lover and have a rescue mentality.  However, I've got plenty of pets at this moment.  I still want a peacock!  I think they are way cool.

Kris had some good advice there. Waves to Kris~

Kat...Your exactly right.  Waves to Kat~

H.P....Good Morning.  Waves to H.P.

I can hear the blue-jays this morning they are the Police of the sky so I know there must be a hawk out there.  When I'm in the mood which is most times I go outside and pretend I'm a crow or another hawk to scare it away.  Clap my hands.  I wonder what the neighbors think?  I probably don't care as I hope I entertain them.

Next up Daily Flip~

Fellowship

The highest honor God has conferred upon you is to be a joint-
fellowshipper with God the Father, His Son, and the Holy Spirit
in carrying out God's plan for the redemption of the human race.
Fellowship with God is the mother of faith.  And God has called
you individually into fellowship with His Son.

Confession:  God has called me into fellowship with His Son,
Jesus Christ.  I will walk in fellowship and communion with Jesus.

1Corinthians 1:9
God is faithful (reliable, trustworthy, and therefore ever true to His promise, and He can be depended on); by Him you were called into companionship and participation with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

Forks commentary:  Just like all of us "fellowship" here at CCC we can commune with God Almighty.  You may think well he doens't talk back to me.  He does if you will listen to the voice called the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit actually lives inside every believer.   This takes time to develop to hear it.  The way I know I hear it is I'll be minding my own business and I'll hear the H.S. and it always matches up to his word and I'll say to myself I know that was him because I know it wasn't me.   Only once in a while does he say something to me that is not scriptural.  His sheep hear his voice.  Have you heard his voice lately?  The Holy Spirit is a gift part of our inheritance.

Dances, I would like to point out something that you said. You said" Only once in a while does he say something to me that is not scriptural. "
If it was not scriptural, then it was definitely not the Holy Spirit. Other than that one statement, I would agree with you. I can sense the urgings of the Holy Spirit, or feel led to do something or say something and I know that it is the Holy Spirit guiding me. I have avoided an accident in the past by following the leading of the Lord and going a different route. Finding out later that at the precise time that I would have been going the other way, a Major accident took place. He's led me in many other things also. Thank you Lord!

We're going to the County Fair on Friday. I was wondering how many calories are in deep-fried artichoke hearts? (My favorite thing at the fair!)  According to my oh-so-wise husband, "too many!"  He thinks that my best bet is probably just to eat a taco or two, or a tri-tip sandwich, and call it good .... take the day off from calorie-counting. I was thinking of finding the sugar-free fudge place and "spending" my calories there .... sigh. Decisions, Decisions! Actually, we've already got a game plan. We will leave the house late morning, go get our flu shots, then have lunch at Panda Express.  I can have steamed veggies, potato chicken and mushroom chicken for 430 calories (only 30 more than my normal lunch!) THEN we will go the fair in the afternoon, with a plan to be HOME by dinnertime. Ron thinks I can plan to have one "snack" item there ... something with carbs to keep my blood sugar at a reasonable level, but nothing "over-the-top" bad for me (like .... ummm.... deep fried artichoke hearts!)

I've had the same breakfast two days in a row .... what a silly creature of habit I can be when it comes to breakfast, huh? Kashi 7 grain Honey Puffs with unsweetened vanilla Almond Breeze, 2 slices of sprouted organic flax seed bread, and 2 slices of fat free Oscar Mayer bologna. (I know it's processed and I just don't care!!! TTTHHHHPPPPT! Tongue out ) That's 284 calories ... which leaves me an extra 16 calories somewhere else for the day! (That's a sugar-free popsicle!)

Grrr..... my throat hurts, I sound like a frog, my head is all stuffed up ... methinks I have caught a cold. I took Vitamin C this morning and will take more tonight.

Hi H.P.

More times than not the H.S. tells you things that are not specific scriptures.  The bible is full of those examples.  The scriptures the H.S. gives you are for you own edification.  I just asked a bible person this question and they confirmed this to be so.   But in my own life I hear the scriptures more than other things.  So, know that the Holy spirit can tell you things.  He can even tell you about others.  Which is what he did for me last week.  It was def. the H.S. that told me something and then I found out it was so later on.

You may hear the H.S. say "leave" "get up and go now" or "go back to your house" or in your case take a "different direction".  That is not a scripture the H.S. gave you so I'm not sure why you would say the H.S. tells you Scriptures only.

Sorry, D, it was a misinterpretation of what you said. You said, "he say something to me that is not scriptural."  I took you to mean that the Holy Spirit told you something that did not line up with scripture, istead of that He told you something that was not a scripture. My mistake. I aplogoze.

The Holy Spirit does indeed direct you and speak to you of things other than just scriptures. That is so true. That happens quite often with me. But to others who may be lurking, if some voice inside you tells you something that does not line up with scripture, then do not listen to that voice. God will NEVER tell you something that goes against His Word.

Hey all! Catching up on last night;s and this morning's posts....Molly, I know this will sound terrible and not that I would want the stress of knowing that hubby is going to be involved in a threat like war, I would love the solitude of a house all to myself for a while.  I guess the grass is always greener.....especially since hubby is not on my favorite persons list right now.

My father was in the military, so I sympathize with the stress that goes along with the loneliness.  Hopefully your DH won't be deployed long and I agree with Dances.  Your hubby is going to come home to a whole new you!  And what a treat that will be once he's home!  Hopefully your neighbors aren't too close by. **shocking....I Know**

You all can pray for me.  I'm giving up my best friend....my cigarettes.  Dr. said to cut out salt, exercise, lose weight and quit smoking.  I'm doing it in that order.....plus, I liked my cigarettes better than anything else on the list, so I wanted to keep those around the longest.

I fully expect to gain some water weight.  It's inevitable.  My body will retain water to flush out the toxins I've been inhaling for 20 years.  So it is critical that my eating is in check, because, as we all know, water weight doesn't hang around forever.....however 2nd and 3rd helpings of desert do.

You are all in my prayers.  Love and happiness to everyone today

-Mandy

Lord,

I pray that you give Mandy Your Grace and Power as she surrenders her addicitons to You! May she realize that if she chooses to grant You the Highest authority in her life, leaving excess food and cigarettes in their rightful place at the bottom of the list, she will succeed.

I ask this Blessing for my friend, and for all others who seek You, in Jesus Name.

Amen

Amen!
amen
H.P. I get it now.  Sorry we weren't getting it the first time.

Mandy...I appreciate you honesty and your humor.  I guess I too can sing the Hallelujah chorus when I have the house alone.  tee/hee

Mandy...I think you need a new game plan.  Since you need to detox that cig out why not replace it with something your body will love.  RAW FRUITS and VEGGIES.  They naturally detox and will speed the process.  Don't forget tons of pure water.  If your gonna do deserts shouldn't you get something to suck on instead?  Something good that is like 10 calories a piece?  Just an idea.

I lost an Aunt at age 37 due to smoking.  The other aunt stopped smoking after she saw her sister die from it.  So, I'm glad you stopped!

I'm sure I speak for the class that if we can be here for you we want to be.

Maybe have a list of things to do when you want a cig?  Positive things.

My latest thing I like is some VERY cool christian music turned up LOUD and exercise.   I know I sound like I'm a teenager.   What's funny is my teenager won't listen to music like that but has always listened to classical music.  She's a trip.  She's very "proper".
I'm "proper" with an edge.  Ok a big edge.

I just had such an apple high.  I got this new one called Honey Crisp and it was organic.  Wow it was good.  I buy organic b/c apples are known to have HIGH pesticides!!!!

I have a list of things posted "Before I take That First Bite (or cigarette)" I must:

I've listed 10 things, like take a walk, brush my teeth, etc. Usually, by the time I get to 3 or 4, the craving has passed, I'm happier and I thank God for the miracle of it all!

BTW, I quit cigarettes (for the second and last time almost 3 yrs ago!

PS: Music is always on my List...Chritian, Classical, Jazz, C&W, classic rock...all the good stuff :)
