Christian Calorie Counters...The word Christian covers many faiths. Baptist, Southern Baptist, Methodist, Pentecostal, Catholics, Presbyterians and right on down the line....All FAITHS ARE WELCOME HERE.
However, there is a condition-"no arguing" "with the foundation of this thread". If you do not believe how this
thread believes you are encouraged to start your own thread with the way you see it. There is a wide range of what Christians Believe in. That's why this thread is being started. Just like the agnostics have their own thread and others tried to go in there & then they were kicked out for disrupting. The same principle will apply to this thread. If anyone disrupts in this thread they will be asked to leave either by me or a monitor. (it's sad you gotta say these things but if you don't trouble makers come)!
However, if someone joins in this thread and really feels as a Christian they need to branch off with their beliefs they can do so and we can do it in Love.
We all know that there is a range of what Christians believe in. That's why there are so many denominations. So for example if you're a good baptist and only believe in getting saved but you don't belief in divine healing, that's fine. You can start your own thread with those thoughts. This thread though is going to talk about divine healing. That's just one example. This thread will be a safety net that allows me or anyone else to talk about these truths without being told to "drop it". These principles are just to important to drop. And I'm going to have to add that since I'm the starter of this thread I determine what is allowed. So, I'll take it as it comes.
The theme song for our Group: This little light of Mine....I'm going to let it shine. Don't let SATAN blow it out! No! I'm going to let it shine! (he tries but to no avail)!
Our Motto: Love & Faith
I want to Welcome you. I roll out the RED CARPET for you to walk down so we can get a good look at you. So smile:)) there are gals who will hand you a *Crown* another who will hand you some *Flowers* and yet another who will take your picture so *Smile*! This is also a place to talk about our weight problems.
Learning to feed ourselves with physical food will be talked about here. Learning to feed our spirits will be talked about here. The entire person. Spirit Soul and body.
If you are Not a Christian but are curious to join in....we encourage you to join in with us. We Welcome you with open arms. This truly is a Sanctuary of Love and Faith. Come & Learn.... come & dine.... in our Fathers House that we've built for Him. To lift up His Name. To Magnify and Glorify His Name. We want to get our temples in shape to do his will.
I look forward to hearing the future TESTIMONIES that will take place as a result of this Thread. All Praise to God our Father and His Son Jesus who is our Lord and Savior. We also thank you for the GREAT MIGHTY HOLY SPIRIT whom you sent to us as a gift to be our guide to live big in us and lead us into all the affairs of Life.
Truly,
DancesWithForks
The leader of this thread.

Other than that, Wonderful! The Lord is holding me steady in relation to the muscle vs. the fat pounds (count)! It seems that the harder I work the more muscle I have been forming and the numbers are staying about the same! I know that in due time they will go down the scale because the muscles will win!! Not to mention I have been sweating a lot more. Renovations are pretty hard work! Also, I haven't been eating enough so that will make a big difference when I am finished with the house.................in about 6 weeks!!!
Hi everyone. Just wanted to share from my reading today. I tried to pick one verse that really stood out, but they were just all too good. Fasten your seatbelts.
From Psalms 146
[1] Praise ye the LORD. Praise the LORD, O my soul.
[2] While I live will I praise the LORD: I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being.
[3] Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.
[4] His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.
[5] Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God:
[6] Which made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein is: which keepeth truth for ever:
[7] Which executeth judgment for the oppressed: which giveth food to the hungry. The LORD looseth the prisoners:
[8] The LORD openeth the eyes of the blind: the LORD raiseth them that are bowed down: the LORD loveth the righteous:
[9] The LORD preserveth the strangers; he relieveth the fatherless and widow: but the way of the wicked he turneth upside down.
[10] The LORD shall reign for ever, even thy God, O Zion, unto all generations. Praise ye the LORD.
Thank you Agent 7. He feeds the hungry and sets the captives free.
That really speaks to me today. I have been a captive of my habits, and I have worried about things like food. But with God on my side, I am no longer a slave to habit, I no longer need to look to food or people or cigarettes for my emotional fulfillment. He said "Here I am, I stand at the door and knock."
So many times I ignore that door. Today I will pay more attention.
BTW...Shared Victory!!!!! 0 Cigs!!!!! Hallelujah and I feel GOOD! (duh nuh nuh nuh nuh nuh nuh....I knew that I would.....duh nuh nuh nuh nuh nuh nuh)
? Hallelujah ?

I am still battling a nasty chest cold/upper respiratory infection... made worse by my asthma. I got very sick very quickly ... Tuesday I was just sneezing with a sore throat, and by yesterday (Wednesday) I had a full-blown, wheezing chest cold! AUUGH! I've been taking it very easy, loading up on garlic and vitamin C, and I started taking Zithromax last night. My goal is to avoid the emergency room and the hospital (where I usually end up every time I get this sort of illness, due to my asthma!)
I went over on my calories yesterday by about 320 (a package of spicy hot beef jerky, specifically!) I've found that some spicy foods help my asthma and breathing ... so I nibbled on that throughout yesterday evening. (I'd had salsa earlier in the day, and only succeeded in upsetting my poor tummy!) Still, even with the extra calories and salt, I did have a 700 calorie deficit ... so all is well on the diet front, methinks. Surely I've been burning calories by coughing .... my back and chest muscles are SORE! I think I'll be heading out to the hot tub again ... soon.
cough cough cough cough cough cough .... wheeze wheeze wheeze ... GASP

I lost another 2.8 pounds ... bringing my total weight loss since 8-22-07 to 31 pounds!!!! (Starting weight 369, current weight 338!)
Yay, me!
=^..^= MOLLY
Molly,
That's A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.!!!!!!!!!! Way to go....
Thanks Pam, Dances & Agent 7 and HOORAY to Molly!!!
Hey Molly..... My son (toddler) has asthma and I know what you are saying about sniffles turning into full blown asthma attacks.....very scary. We were given a nebulizer to treat him at home. I hate to give my baby drugs though, so I have been researching (or me-searching) asthma and some advice that seems to be helping my boy is this. They said that a lot of times asthma can flare up when there is not enough moisture in the lungs. Sounds hysterical that when you are gunked up and feeling more moist than usual that your lungs may be dry. However, I've been making sure that he always has a sippy cup in hand and we have actually avoided the nebulizer for twice the length of time since his last attack. It also helps to( **graphic**) cleanse your bowels. I boil carrots and then blend them up in the water they boiled in and make homemade carrot juice. The baby loves it cuz it's sweet and it helps push the gunk out. Makes diaper duty more colorful too! Hope this helps.
MWAH!
Molly, Ask your DH to bring home some nice refrigerated soup from Whole Foods. I agree with Mandy...you need lots of liquids, preferably warm, fragrant and delicious!
Mandy, it sounds like you are a very good mom, doing all you can for your baby. Still, don't be afraid to use the nebulizer if needed. I understand though about not wanting to overmedicate your tiny, precious child.
Dances, thanks for a great thread among great people where I feel so welcome!
JJ
Mandago .... thanks!
Well, this antibiotic and all the veggies/fiber I eat seems to be doing just a dandy job of "cleansing my bowels." In fact, for the past few days, this has been too much of a good thing, if you know what I mean. (sigh) Oh well, I'll just have my own private little detox session, I guess.
I am trying to stay hydrated and am now drinking Crystal Light Hydration (16oz) since I wasn't really drinking my water. I have found a steamy shower and a quick visit to the 105 degree hot tub helps, too. And I keep taking Vitamin C and garlic and my multi vitamin and probiotics .... and eating healthy foods.... so I am optimistic I can avoid a trip to the ER.... Lord willing. The silliest thing? I want to be healthy enough to go get my flu shot tomorrow ... LOL!
Just so you know, caffeine and spicy foods and garlic can all help with asthma and "chest goopiness," too .... and can be something to try before reaching for pharmaceuticals in non-critical situations. I self-dosed last night with chicken bouillon with hot sauce added to it. (That was an eye opener!) I also recommend the spicy hot beef jerky if you don't mind a pound of salt.

Stayonpiste .... soups?!?!? I had soup for lunch! hee hee hee! I was a good girl and had Progresso Light Vegetable soup for lunch.
Soup for dinner?? No way, Jose. I have one serving left of oven-roasted potatoes, plus another serving of the oven-roasted tri tip my friend Heather brought over, and I refuse NOT to eat them both tonight ... hee hee hee. I am, however, willing to have more chicken bouillon tonight (or decaf tea) to ensure that I stay properly hydrated.

We actually have a credit card just for this place with a small limit on it. so, that a crook can't bother it and then we can locate where foul play happens. That's my detecitve nature. One time someone bought two airline tickets so now we just keep a small credit limit on this card. So smart.
it's amazing that most illnessess can be helped with a better diet.
