Any Christians trying to lose weight?
The question probably popped up before, but I?m new to this site. I just could use some Christian perspective on healthy living.
Sure are. I am a fairly new christian, but not a good witness. Check out this topic.

I am very spiritual. I am a Catholic. I think to lose weight and be healthy you need to have a balance of Mind-Body-Soul.
I'm Christian.
Glad to see a few more :)

I am a Christian....there's no way I could be doing what I'm doing if I
didn't lean on the Lord for support, help, and a renewed attitude each
morning!

Hi! I am a Christian in the UK! How great is this... to know you are all out there I mean!
What i try to remind myself is that we are supposed to treat our bodies " as a temple for God"... but I dont find it easy and have days where this whole weight-loss becomes my obsession and focus, does anyone else get that? I just pray for patience and focus and its helped me lose 17lb in the past year... (after crying my eyes out about my weight I remembered that He only helps those who help themselves). At least i know Im never alone, we chat all day.
Oh yes, im also new to CC... "msetine", How about mexican scrambled eggs for a breakfast/lunch combo... scrambled egg with a bit of chopped onion, bell peppers, tomatoe and a slice of dehli ham (sliced), served with a slice of toast. Up to you whether you add in marg./butter and milk to your scrambled egg whilst cooking. Its a slow release of energy and should keep your energy levels going till your next meal. (not sure how many calories in it though, havent worked it out yet). I might have that on a weekend, but usually have porridge oats each morning with a few raisons and cinnamon for sweetness) I LOVE COOKING, so if you'd like any ither suggestions let me know, i could even do the cal, calculations if you like.
Beginning to ramble... Hugs for you all and have a great day! ;-)

I'm a Christian....and I'm new to the site too. My husband is Army and we are stationed in Europe. I joined the site to keep me motivated to lose a few before my DH comes home from Iraq in 3 months. God rocks! With his help you can do anything!

Awesome! It?s great to hear from all of you!
My spiritual mentor, my mother-in-law, passed away from breast cancer last year. She was also a nutritionist & health nut. If it wasn?t organic, throw it out! She used to do classes about fueling your body w/ pure & natural foods- the way God intended our bodies to work.
I can tell you what vitamins & minerals are in every fruit & vegetables; how to prepare a delicious organic meal; juicing the right veggies & fruits to eliminate sinus problems. I studied & did everything she preached.
Then she died & we, as a family, turned to comfort food. Short term it wouldn?t have been so bad, but 13 months & 15 Lbs later, it?s time to transform my body back into the sanctuary like God intended. It?s also a way I can honour my mother-in-law.
Focusing on God is the only way I can do this.

Hey Spitfireflix (Michelle?)
Saw on my profile you put me down as a friend! You've made my day, was hoping someone would want to be "my friend" soon! I feel so priviledged, thanks (hee hee)
Im living in Ashord, Kent. (South East of the UK) We've been here for a year, before that I was in London for 7 years! I havent seen enough of Scotland yet! But we did go for Hogmany 2 years ago! Madness and brilliant fun!! Was your mother-in-law into reflexology too, or are you? Thats what im studying at the moment. She (sorry, dont mean to refer to your mother-in-law as "she") sounds like a wonderful and inspiring person! You mean you can have the right fruits and veg to help sinus troubles!?! So much to learn from what is so readily available to us!
We're having a true "British" summer here... rain, rain and more rain! And for this Bank holiday weekend we will mostly be featuring... rain! hee hee

I'm a Christian as well living in New York City. I'm glad to know that we can give each other spirtual support.
Jesus saved me in September 2002...praise Him! I teach at a Christian school in Louisiana and God quickly began to convict me about my testimony with a verse from Philippians: Let your moderation be known unto all men: the Lord is at hand! I realized that my overeating and lack of moderation was an awful example to the precious teenagers that I am so blessed to teach, many of whom struggle with their weight. I also realized that I simply could not do all that the Lord was calling on me to do because I stayed so tired and grumpy all the time because of my poor health. Losing weight has opened another avenue of ministry for me as well: many people ask me how I've lost weight and I am able to give all glory to the Lord!
Hi there - I'm a Christian as well.
Wow, there are a lot of us. And for the UK crowd, I spent 7 1/2 wonderful growing up years just outside of Shefford near Bedfordshire, about an hour and a half out of London. Loved it.
