sounds awesome, I am in!!!! My goal weight for Christmas is 160. I am 5'4" and 175 pounds right now. I was doing super good, as I started at 192 in April, but have been doing major construction in my house right now and have been living off of fast food at a local motel for the past month. The contractor says that the house should be done on Sunday, so come monday morning I am swearing off fast food forever! I would like to be at 145 by my next birthday (august 14th). That is what I was at when I got pregnant with my daughter in 2004.

I just joined the group today and I'm psyched about this challenge! I'm hoping this will help give me the motivation to stick with this and reach my goal, once and for all! Today, September 10th, I weigh 240lbs. My Christmas goal is 210lbs. Wow, just typing those numbers in is very humbling.
Today, September 11, I am 164.2 pounds (I'm a day late sorry).
I would love to be 135 pounds by Christmas. My short term goal is 150, but healthy weight for me is 140 so 135 seems a good goal!! I ultimately would like to be 125. I'm 5'3" and 29.

Well I was wondering if any of you would like to share how you are loosing your weight.. Exercise? Eating? Calories? What are your goals and why?
I am eating between 1200-1400 Cal a day, I write EVERYTHING I eat or drink if it has calories in it down every day, and I started the couch to 5k program.. It's an excellent program and I would recommend it to anyone. I am only in week one but I'm excited about moving on to next week. I ultimately want to weigh between 120- 130, I want to be able to dress sexy lol, I want to be able to wear a bathing suit again since it's been almost ten years, and I want to run a 5k in may. I would like to run a full marathon within the next two years. Those are my goals and why.. I know some of them sound silly but it's good to write down an honest goal and why you have that goal... even if you don't do it on here write it somewhere.

Wow, guess all those trips to the gym and keeping a food journal is paying off! Totally made it worth the nightly hour long cardio sessions and frequent weight training to see the decrease! My best friend asked me last nite how I have the energy to go to the gym after the baby goes down at 8:30. I told her "sheer necessity!" It's the only time I can go and not sacrifice the little time I have with my baby after working 10hr. days. Best of luck to the rest of you!
Hi, I just begin yesterday and believe it or not I lost 2 pounds already:) very very happy because when I starved myself the best was 1 pound and exercise included, I always heard that you have to eat to loose weight , I said to myself yeah,whatever!!! anyway, I would love to be in the challenge, I am 216( yesterday was 218) and my goal for christmas is 185:) ( more would be awsome) I have to eat for 1284 calori a day:) Hopefully that will keep me down. A week in and I haven't lost. But, I know I didn't make the right choices when it came to food this week. And I only worked out 3x. For me, I need to workout 4 days and eat healthily. Looking for some inspirations from your successes! From an earlier post, I'll log my food and exercise and see if that can make the difference for me. :-)
Dont get discouraged. I know it is hard. I have been just reading the posts since August and not joining in. I have lost 40 pounds since the beginning of summer. I do not reccommend this! It was this web site that showed me how wrong I was doing everything. I had hit a standstill on weight loss and did not know why. My stomach was feeling rough everyday and I learned I was not even takng in enough calories that the body needs on a daily basis. I was literal destroying my body from the inside out! Since this website I have lost another 15 pounds. Last week I was having a hard week and posted for advice and got it. What that member said really helped so I think you are on the right track!
My advice? The important key is to exercise more an you take in. If you are not a exercise fan find something you like to do. I think the easiest is walking. You just need to start and work your way up. Make sure you set a goal that is attainable. For me I set my goal at half of what I want to reach so that I can not get overwhelmed. I hope this helped.

well I forgot to weigh in on thursday so I am doing it for today

I am very confused about this because I have joined the gym and have gone 5 times this week I have done little weight training but work my ass off on the treadmill an hour everytime and at 7-10 incline at 3 miles an hour I am telling myself that I am gain more musle but have seen no change on the scale I had someone tell me its because I have stopped drink as much water as I was and I think this might be true I have also stopped logging the stuff I eat but am still eating healthy I know that this is not a good thing so I will try again to start logging its just sometime it takes forever to log all of food I eat in a day I have like 12 things I put in my salad alone if anyone has any advice I would sure love to hear from you

First the water is very important. The water breaks down the fat. Second you could try wearing sweat gear when you work out. The first few pounds are the easiest because it is extra stored fat. Now you have to work on the fat your body wants to keep. I get that way too. Sometimes I change the workout to something different and it helps. The most important is not to give up!! I get discouraged and instead of eating like before I workout instead. I have heard, if pop is what you are drinking, it contains a chemical that causes the body to crave food especially the diet! Eatting a lot of fiber is a huge plus too. I hope this helped!
