Maybe we can take before and after pics if you want to if not thats cool, i TOTALLY understand!!

Azule - I like the idea of mashed cauliflower - and mixing it with potatoes is a good compromise for your family.

Okay, I don't know how this happened, but I'm down over 4 pounds this week! I haven't lost in months and suddenly - booom. Well, I won't complain :) but it is rather puzzling. Here are my stats:

GW: 160

Hi Corina!

That's wonderful! I am very very happy for you! 4 lb after a long time of waiting is awesome!! Congrats!

Mashed Cauliflower - that was one of the suggestions on "The Biggest Loser" this week. They said exactly this: mash cauliflower and mix it with mashed potatoes if you like. The texture is similar and it goes very well together!

I will definately try it this weekend! On its own I don't fancy cauliflower much... but as potatoe mash it's surely much better!

Oh and this is my update this week:

Total loss: 19 lb

all the best to all of you and Happy Canadian Thanksgiving!!!

Brigit

Congrats akcorina, 4 lbs is awesome!

Congrats on your 19 lbs loss mermaid!

I didn’t hear the suggestion of mixing the cauliflower & potato as I was flashing back & forth between channels, but I think that is a good combination of nutrition vs flavor. I’m going to try not to let my family know what I’m doing & see if they know the difference.

I got on the scale this morning at it read 180.8, so I don’t know what I weigh. I guess I have to let my body do what it’s doing before I know for sure what my weight is.

Well I have to appologize, I havent been around because my computer when kaputt and I just got it back. Soooo i will weigh in now and then again on mond

truleefrea: hey that's awesome! 11 lb in just 6 weeks lost! wow! congrats!!!

BTW

i just tried the cauliflower potatoe mash and it's amazing - it tastes just like pure potatoe mash and has only half the calories!

I used for 6 servings (each 275 g = 125 cal)

750 g cauliflower, 750 g potatoes, 1/2 cup non fat milk, salt and pepper

2 servings and I was stuffed...  :o)

I haven't logged for awhile been really busy but I can say that at least in the last month I didn't gain lost 3 pounds in a month this is a little disappointing cuz I even join a gym and have been trying ot go at least 3-5 times a week I think I will chuck it up to that old saying muscle weighs more than fat cuz I have lost some inches but not pound

Thanks mermaid!

I love to hear that, I forgot to get some from the store but I will pick some up. I think I will make this for thanksgiving & share the recipe with my family.

I am still doing the couch to 5k and let me tell you as the weather gets colder the harder it is for me to do :( THe cold air does a number on my lungs and seems to throw me into an immediate asthma attack. Ughhhh. Well my mom got one of those trampolines so on real bad days when I cant get a full run or no run at all I will work out at her place. I'm up to three minute jogs with two min walks between. I did most of it today but it wasnt easy and I am still wheezing and coughing two hours later. Ugh. Anyway, How is everyone else doing on their weight loss challenge. Are you all seeing the results that you want? i know it doesnt come off quickly but it does come off. I can't believe I'm under 180!! Yay me!! Sorry I'm having a suite life of zach and cody moment. lol. I hope everyone is doing well and keeping in contact with their doctors as you all exercise. Best of luck to all of you and keep up the good work. It will be no time at all before christmas is upon us.

Oh as a side note.. and this is a personal thing.. I have made contact with my very first boyfriend again after some 15 years and he is going to come from texas to oregon to see me in the next couple of months so needless to say I have new motivation to loose this weight!

ktladie,

you really need to pay attention to your size and not your weight because when I first started jogging I gained weight and totaly went crazy being upset but after a few weeks and only a few lbs of weight loss, and i mean like 4 or 5lbs weight loss i all the sudden noticed that i was smaller.. and not just 4 or 5lbs smaller but like almost 10lbs smaller.. it was noticable. So ya i may not weigh what I want but at 179 I am smaller in size then I was at 170 three years ago.. I have the cloths to prove it!! Keep on trucking, it will work out just dont give up!! :D

I heartily agree with you about weight vs size. I am very active compared to most and when I tell people my weight at 5'8 being over 200lbs, they cant believe it! So, have a pair of very tight NON_stretch jeans (I think thi sis best way) that you wear and occasionaly wash and DRY so they shrink back to original size. AS you get smaller from muscles and working out (and small loss perhaps on scale) you will eventually slip (rather than squeeze) into freshly dried formerly tight jeans! Now THAT feels great!!

Good luck all! (I just had my first HUGE slip- intentional- yesterday at a party where i drank for the first time in YEARS, ate loads of dark chocolate, icecream and meat - must have hit nearly 4000 calories! (and IUm supposed t stay at 1900! SO I am doing my best to let it go and just had fun and enjoyes. Today, I am back on track!

I don’t think my weight was right last week. But whatever I’m ecstatic about being in the 70”s.

My goal is to get to 130 but my husband doesn’t think I should go below 150. I told him we’ll see when I get there. I have a pic on my wall when I was 125 & let me tell you I was hot but still didn’t look to skinny. BTW I was 103 when I met my husband.

I’m just really happy that I decided that enough was enough, and this time next year I should be at goal weight.

Just happy to see the scale move.  I avoided it this week (I'm slightly obsessive about weighing myself every other day or so) bcuz I knew that hormones and water would not be friendly to me. Good to know that my couple slip ups and diligent workouts balanced each other out.

Christmas Goal: 160

Current weight: 168.8

I'm getting so close! Can't believe I've been in the 60's for two weeks now. Feels great and I want it to get even better!

Keep up the good work ladies!

oh yeah its slow going on the weight I realy hope that I make my christmas goal

I just joined today and will get a photo up soon.  Thanks for motivating me!  You have done an amazing job!!!  I have a wedding to go to in December and would love to drop a few pounds.  Not for the wedding, but it is a good reason.  I am 149 pounds and would like to get down to 135.  I am 5'4".

I'm thinking that I could lose 7 pounds by the middle of December.  I haven't been exercising since I've been back in the classroom this fall.  I got on the treadmill today and only stayed on for 22 minutes as my children got up from their naps.  Hey, at least I was on it.

Christmas Goal: 142 :)  Bring on sexy!

Hello, my name is Jamie and I am new to Calorie Count -- I love the food log!  I am a Weight Watcher but my membership at work just ran out so I was looking for somewhere online that could keep me accountable and I found this group.  I had my own goal in mind of "20 lbs by 2010" -- so far I am down 6.2 lbs.  I am 32 years old, 5'6" and live in Pensacola, FL.  Good luck ladies!

Starting Weight: 245 (size 18)

Current Weight: 225.8 (size 16/18)

Christmas Goal Weight: 212 (size 14/16)

Goal Weight: 150 (size 10/12)

Starting Weight: 149 (just began this week)

Current Weight: 147.5

Christmas Goal: 142

Goal Weight: 130 (I want to be a size 6/8)

It is going to be my birthday and my colleagues brought me lunch which included a chocolate cake!  I figured if I just had one small piece.  It is my birthday lunch right?  I can't turn them down.  I only had a small sandwich with the small piece of cake.  But, now my husband is taking me out to dinner this weekend for my celebration.  I must keep my eye on the prize.

It does feel so much better to lose weight than to eat that piece of cake.

Cheers!

I wrote when I first posted here: "Today, September 11, I am 164.2 pounds (I'm a day late sorry)."

As of today, I'm 160.2 pounds! I'm almost in the 150's!! I'm losing 3-4 pounds a month on average (I basically started at the beginning of august even though I was kind of tracking the second half of july).  I started in July at 175... Aug 4 I was 170 ish.  Now I'm down almost 10 more pounds.  I'm happy about this, although I wish it would go faster.

I'm shooting for 155-157 by Thanksgiving and 150-152 by Christmas.  :)  130 is my long term goal.

Hi all!

Just got onto CC a week ago; I was 160 lbs. Today I'm down to 155, and I'm thrilled to bits :)

The best part is I've been eating well, haven't been hungry- I like to vary my calorie count between 1400 to 1800 or so and it seems to be working. Just eating healthier, no more junk food, plenty of fruits n veggies.

I've been a fairly regular exerciser most of my life- slim till my mid-20s. I'd eat all I wanted and barely put on weight... I sure am paying for it now! Tore a ligament in my ankle Dec'07, and it's been downhill since- was 6 months b4 I could get myself to exercise again. And then it would be a couple weeks b4 I had to stop cos of the pain. That's when I put on about 15-20 lbs thru 2008.

Since the beginning of this year I've started exercising regularly again. But all I achieved was maintaining the same weight; mostly thru aerobics and some light weight training.Decided to change my exercise routine since it's not working. My exercise routine for the last 10 days consists of heavier weight training (compared to b4) 3 x a week, and not too much cardio- just about 1 hr a week. I also play badminton 2-3x a week.

Oh, also go bird-watching, biking & sing in a choir- all of which seem to be burning those calories and r fun besides!

I'm 32, height 5'-6"

SW- 160

CW- 155 lbs

GW- 135 lbs (by x-mas)

Good luck to all of u- hoping we achieve our targets- what a gr8 christmas present 2 ourselves!
