25-35 Pounds By Christmas? ***GROUP CLOSED***

Quote  |  Reply

Christmas is approximately 22 weeks away, give or take a few days. I would like to lose a minimum of 28 pounds by then...but losing 35 pounds would be even more awesome!!! I think this is a healthy and realistic goal...25-35 pounds in about, let's call it 21 weeks, is the equivalent of losing 1.19-1.66 pounds a week.
Would anyone like to join me? I would like to find a group of committed people who can support one another and celebrate together all along the way. Is anyone with me? I find it easiest to weigh in on Fridays, but we can each weigh in whenever. Just check in and support one another at least twice a week!
I currently weigh 222.4...I am trying to get to 195 by Christmas and 188 would be downright awesome!

So.. Is this where we weigh in? Well, weighed myself this morning, and I'm down to 229.1. So I've been steadily losing. I think the start weight that I posted in this forum was 236.8 so I've lost about 7lbs. I had a few beers last night (4 12oz. cans of Miller Lite) and my friends wanted me to go out to eat with them! They even offered to pay! I had some calories left for that day (about 500 or so) but I knew whatever I ended up ordering would put me over, so I declined. It took everything I had to say no, but I just remembered how I felt the last time I went to Denny's and pigged out and gained like 4lbs the next day! Drunk eating sucks!

I'm excited to hear everyone's good news this week!  I'll add to it :)  I'm down a pound this week, and 3 for the month after I'd gained a couple.  So I'm back at an all-time low and back on the losing track.

Here here! I have a birthday party to attend tomorrow, though I do see Miller makes MGD lite with only, like 70 calories a beer. I wonder how good it is though?

Great job on resisting the temptation!

I've been reading all the posts.  What a great group!  Well done everyone - and have a good weekend.  I am going to get on my Wii Fit this weekend and try to burn some more calories.  I have been walking, but I do need to do more!

Great job this week everyone!  We'll all be in our slinky Christmas dresses before we know it.

One of the jail staff actually called me skinny today!  Of course, it's all relative (she's fairly heavyset) but she hasn't seen me in about a month.  That was definitely a much needed boost!

Has anyone noticed that food tastes a lot saltier when you eat out once you've really been watching your salt intake, eating healthier, etc.?  I was really bad and skipped lunch today (not intentional, just running all day) so hubby and I went out for chinese food tonight.  I couldn't eat that much (yay me!) and the food tasted REALLY salty.  Guess I need to flush the water tomorrow!

How many of you do "goal prizes" at different intervals?  What are your prizes and how often do you reward yourself?  I have a hot pink Victoria's bra that says "sexy" in rhinestones for when I hit 145.

Yea, I've heard about MGD Lite recently! Is that new? Or have I just not been drinking enough lately? lol. I used to LOVE MGD, but swithed to Miller Lite. First I switched because its what my fiance drinks, then I stayed with it once I started counting because it had less cals then MGD. Miller Lite has about 95 cals, so if MGD Lite has a lower cal count that sounds like the drink for me!!

I don't think I'll be squeezing into a Christmas dress this year (or any year, for that matter). Oh, and thanks for the porps v_avila. Its so hard to say no to food, espiecially a free meal! I always feel like I have to say "yes". I mean, how often does someone offer to buy you're food! lol.

Come on, joe - no cross dressing for santa?  LOL

Perhaps some sequined suspenders?

Damn - now that I am in this challenge, it's hard to NOT weigh myself everyday - I am up a pound, but not sweating it, its probably water weight anyway.  I'll try not to weigh myself everyday!  Only Fridays!  Hope everyone is having a great weekend and congrats on the success so far!

You guys have been awesome at resisting temptation!  Cheetos, Denny's, sodas, etc.  Not easy to do, but we are doing it!  A friend and I are supposed to go to Denny's this week one night for a Mom's Night Out....I think I will have to save up my calories for the day and then just order a side of fries or something...and maybe a diet coke.  I am thankful they put their calories online - YIKES!  I love their appetizers, but to look at the numbers is to run in the opposite direction!!!
Joe: I am sure your finace is glad to hear she doesn't have to hide her dresses from you! Wink
Fluffy: I am a scale addict too....we just have to resist the urge to allow the scale to dictate our moods!

Whatever you do, stay away from the grand slam! lol. I have to say that it has to be the perfect drunk meal. The last time I went out before Denny's was Apple Bee's (this was like 2 or 3 weeks ago) and I saved up calories (I think all I had all day was one slim fast meal bar) and I got a Quesidilla (no idea how to spell that) Burger and it was sooo good. And I still lost weight so that was a plus!

That is awesome when you still lose weight after eating something like that!
I am seriously considering the grilled cheese and french fries off of the kids menu for my Denny's date with my friend....still a ton of calories, but if I work out significantly that day, I can still do it....but I will probably weigh in on Thursday rather than on Friday due to the sodium and the guaranteed water retention!!!!

Ok guys, I had a pretty bad weekend. I weighed in on Friday, down 1.8# woohoo, then our company arrived. Of course we had to go out to dinner, I did fine by ordering grilled tilapia off the low fat menu, but then we went home and had drinks! I didn't count calories any more while they were with us. My overeating ended up being 2 margaritas, 5 dessert shots, and dinner the next day of 6 boneless wings and a few french fries. I am dreading friday even though I have been working hard today to get back on track! The difference between this lifestyle change on past diets is that I actually want to get back on track, I didn't lose any motivation whatsoever! I am drinking water like a camel and exercising with incredible intensity. We'll see what friday brings! Good luck and do well this week!
