Name: John
Current Weight: 165.0#
Scale stepper or Judge by clothing
Amount of weight you wish to lose: 5.0#
How often do you want to weight-in? Daily, but I'll post here once or twice a week.Goal by Christmas? 160.0#
What do you do to workout? Weight lifting 3 times most weeks. Hiking, walking, jogging, or running 5 or more miles 6 times most weeks. Eat right? I journal all my food. Make sure I burn at least 250 more calories a day than I take in most days, get at least 80 grams of protein and at most 55 grams of fat (at most 15 grams saturated fat) most days.
ALSO I want you to make weekly challenges My challenge this week is 7 hours of cardio exercise.
I've been working on this for 13 months and have lost 85.0# with just 5.0# more to go to reach my goal. My actual goal date is December 1 which is 70 days away. That's just 0.5# a week, so I know it can be done and I am really already beginning the transition to maintenance.
Wow John...such amazing achievements so far! Serious respect for you! I'm sure you'll do really well on this challenge - good luck with meeting your goal!

How often do you want to weight-in:almost daily but like John I'll post 1-2 times a week probably Monday and Friday

Monica, I think you are practically my twin! As far as goals are concerned: I am 150, want to lose about 5 lbs, my workouts are about the same, I'm compulsive about the scale and I'm training for a 10k on 10/25. Woo! Your pictures are amazing and your story is so inspiring.
I decided to put away the scale for about a month because it was making me crazy, so I won't be weighing in as often as everyone else. I'm going to keep track of my measurements and go by how my pants fit for now.
Who has seen some results so far??
Christmas Miracle Challenge!
Name: Gela
Start Weight (Sept. 20): 170
Goal Weight (by Christmas Day): 150
Last Week's Goals: accomplished!
This Week's Goals: Focus on diet. All the yoga and exercise in the world isn't going to help me if I overeat. Try to have discipline at night when my hunger kicks in. My goal by next Friday is to weigh 167.2.
September 20: 170
September 25: 168.8
This week went pretty well. I had one day that I lost control of my diet, and I ended up undoing all the hard work I had done that wekk, but I seem to have lost the weight again, so I'm pretty happy about that. I started doing yoga and it seems to be working well for me even though I don't even feel like I'm doing anything. Like I said, I really just need to focus on my diet.
Well good luck everybody! I hope everyone is having as much success as I am! Yay!
~*~Gela~*~
My challenge this week was 7 hours of cardio exercise.
I did 728 minutes which is over 12 hours.
My challenge for this next week is 21 servings of fruits and vegetables.
Helloooo fellow Christmas Challengers! I believe it is weigh in day today? Monday? Anyway, Crazy week for me. I had been "plateauing" for two weeks in the sense that I hadn't lost and then...

Current weight: 207 lbs
Challenge Goal weight: 188 lbs (down 21 lbs)
Weekly challenges: 300 minutes cardio - I did 480 minutes; 3x week weight training - I did 2x :(
I was aiming for 1.5 lbs lost a week and managed 2 lbs - yeah! Especially after one week of no loss and one week of only 1 lb. Very happy.
Ok, so today is WI day and I can say I have a GAIN! I really have not been on the wagon lately, but I am ready to go today. I saw some pics of me before I lost 50lbs and that really motivated me to loose the last 50 lbs. So I am ready for a great week.
Start Weight: 196
Todays Weght : 200
Goal for next Monday: 195 (I know most of my gain is water weight, so maybe I can loose at least one real pound).
I also want to get in 4-5 days Cardio and 3 days strength this week.
Congrats to all of you who lost this week.
I had a couple of really good eating days and then my mom came to visit and we ate like mad. I'm not that stressed out about it, though.
Still don't have a scale so I can't weigh in!

Challenges for this week:
300 minutes of cardio
3x week weight training
1 60 minute swim
2 litres of water a day
Funny, I ate between 1500 and 1700 calories a day (instead of the 1500) and I made sure I did not go over 50% of that for carbs. Seems to have worked!
Good luck everyone!
WOW! Everyone is doing sooo well. I'm going to go workout tonight and I'll let you all know later what the scale says!! I did go out of town to a wedding this weekend but I did skip the wedding cake which is pretty good for me!! haha. My friend that went with me gained 4 pounds so I'm nervous about looking at the scale. Wish me luck!
Last Weeks Weight: 198.4
First Weeks Weight: 197.2
Total Lost: 1.2 lbs!
1st Week Goals: Accomplished :)
2nd Week Goals: Attend two Zumba classes, go to the gym 4 days a week for at least one hour each time, drink 4-6 glasses of water a day (i usually don't drink that much but water is good for you!)
~This week went pretty well. I went to two Zumba classes, I don't know if anyone else has gone to these classes but they are so much fun, and you get a really good cardio workout without feeling like you are working out because it is so much fun dancing around! I had a bad day because we went out for chinese and then a movie, and at the movie we had icees and popcorn. These are not calorie friendly things, as I have found out. But I am not going to back out because when I started calorie counting I was 203 pounds, and I have lost 5.8 pounds!
I am going to try this week to be much better about the type of food that I am taking in each day.
Good Luck to everyone as we start week two!

don't worry i don't plan on losing this much every week. I don't even know how that happened. i think it's because I'm exercising more that i ever have before.
Goals for next week: Maintain or lose no more than 1.5 lbs
Keep working out with Wii Fit
Test out 2 Zumba classes with my mother in law.
Try and get on the elliptical or stationary bike when i can. (i didn't do that at all last week.)

Challenge Starting weight: 139lbs
Current weight: 137.5lbs
Challenge Goal weight: 125lbs
My goals right now are to relax about my weight loss. I have a lot of other stressors in my life right now, and as food and exercise was something I could control, I was becoming overzealous about it. I've decided to take a break from calorie counting and eat intuitively, and work out by riding my bike to school instead of driving. I'm hoping that I'll continue to drop weight just by maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
It's time to see how well I've learned my healthy eating habits of the last 6 months!
Congratulations everyone else on the success so far!
I'm not weighing in for 3 more weeks, but I still want to update.
I haven't worked out since Thursday (other than a leisurely bike ride on Saturday). So that means I have skipped a 4 mile run and one day of weights. :-/ I'm going to Body Pump tonight though and running again tomorrow, also running Thursday and playing volleyball. I will get myself back on track.
On the other hand, I wore my khaki pants to work today and they are huge in the waist! So I must be doing something!
I'm going to try to skip my afternoon diet cokes this week and stick to water. I decided to forego my usual breakfast of oatmeal made with vanilla soy milk and sliced bananas, plus grapefruit juice - 400 calories! Today I made egg beaters and 2 slices of turkey bacon instead. 80 calories. WOW. Talk about a difference. Also I have been eating apples for my morning snack instead of granola bars.
Still focusing on drinking tons of water.
Congratulations everyone so far!
