Christmas Party Game Ideas
I'm hosting a cookie exchange party next weekend and want to have some fun, interacting games for my guests to play (for prizes, of course!).
Anyone have any ideas they would like to share??
Thanks!!!
A cookie exchange party? What you all bring a plate of different cookies or something?
Ohhhh do drinking games with cookies instead of alcohol!
lol... actually no one is eating the cookies until they get home, but there will be plenty of other goodies to consume!
The cookie exchange party works like this:
everyone brings in 6 dozen of the same cookie - and no duplicates (guests have to clear w/ me what kind of cookie). They bring their cookies to my house (and extra containers) and eat appetizers and other goodies, play games (hence the post) and get prizes... then we divide up the cookies and everyone brings home 6 dozen different kind of cookies! It's a great way to get a good combination of Christmas cookies without having to make 6 different kinds yourself. I've done it 4 years in a row now.
Split into two groups. Give each group a 10' roll of red paper, a 3' roll of black paper, a roll of tape, a bag of pillow stuffing, and scissors. Send each group into a private area where they will choose one team member to be Santa. Give them 15 minutes to put their Santa together. You be the judge as to who the winner is. We've also done it with Green Paper and strings of beads and markers to make a Christmas Trees. Either way was a lot of fun.You could put together a Jeopardy Game with topics like "Christmas Carols," "Traditions," "Foods," "Manger," etc.
There are lots of quizzes available on line.
A fun game is to create a Word or Excel document with a long list of Christmas songs and number them. Then create a copy but reduce every song title down to the first letter of each word in the title. So Joy To The World becomes JTTW. Include a variety: classics, newer, kid, religious, etc. Print out the list with initials and let people try to figure out the songs. We usually go over the list as a group in which we call off the each numbered song and then everyone who figured it out would sing the title aloud.
You can print it out every year because people forget - I forget after printing the list, mine was so long. I recently lost the document so will be redo-ing it this year.
You can do this individually or as teams
