Christmas Party Motivation Group
Well, we're expecting the invites to our Christmas party at work any day now (we're a massive company and it's a free meal and open bar so these things need to be planned from about Febuary!) and it's got me focusing on my dress.
Who else felt like a small elephant last year, surrounded by skinny colleagues and friends, and this year wants to show off their figure in a cute-as-hell dress?
I was at my fattest ever last year (173) and too my horror the dress I'd bought a month before was too small on the night! I had to wear a larger floaty dress! I felt repulsive. (See my pictures for an idea of how big I was)
Now I'm 157 and I'm geared up to loose 17lbs before Christmas. Who's with me? I thought we might be able to support each other, as well as share some beauty tips nearer the time.

I've blown it a little bit tonight. I won two bottles of wine after doing an egg & spoon race at work (don't ask*). So I had a glass, and because we didn't have my planned meal in I ate another higher calorie one. However before that my calories had been lower than usual so I think I'm okay...
On the plus side I must of burned off a few in the egg & spoon race!
Anyway...any more people thinking about Christmas yet?
*I knew someone would ask. Yes it was a real race. No - I don't work in the usual environments for an egg & spoon race. I sell fuel cards in an office and the egg & spoon race was the end of two weeks of incentives. I do think I work in the most fun office ever though.
December is my goal too. But for different reasons. My 31st birthday will be coming up, and after having my 3rd child I want to look and feel good about my body. My goal is to loose 24 lbs. I've started counting calories and exercising. I never knew how hard it would be just to stay within the suggested calorie intake. Which for me is 1700-1900 calories. I must have been comsuming more. I feel hungry all the time since I've stated working out. I've lost 2lbs in about 21/2 weeks. Which sounds good but the end goal seems difficult to achieve in so little time. Need help to not give up and start binging on fatty foods!
Anyhow, I'm up for a challenge. I would love to race to lose weight. I think it's a great way to keep motivated and focused on your goal. Plus, having someone to help encourage you can make it easier knowing your not alone.
I want to lose at least 20 more pounds before January 1, so I'd be in. I do want to look fab at Christmas! :)
Welcome guys!
Why don't we post our stats?

Good news is that my little binge (see above) didn't effect the scales and I'd lost a pound the next morning. This morning I'm only one ounce of the 155 mark!
Shall we have a goal to do at least ten minutes of exercise today?

Woo, down a pound this morning and likley to drop down tomorrow! How's it going for the rest of you?
I've been losing slowly, but I would love to be at 160 by Christmas (I am 171 now). Our work always has a nice dinner out and we get our bonuses at the party, it's great fun! I get to dress in fancy dresses, and look really nice, so I enjoy it!.
I would like to be down about 20 lbs by Christmas for a number of reasons! I will be attending 2 Christmas parties (mine and my boyfriends), both of which I will be wearing a dress! I also want to loose the weight because I only get to go back to my home town twice a year (summer and Christmas). It would be awesome to go home and see my family and friends 20 lbs lighter!
Slow goes it - but I'm down 4.5 for the month! :)

Oops, posted twice.
How is everyone doing?
I was down a pound this morning (see my journal for full account of the drama).
I had fun making a 'weight loss' advent calender. Basically I got a peice of paper, wrote the numbers 157 - 140 on there and surrounded it with pictures of pretty dresses, christmas trees, parcels, and snowmen. I've already ticked of three boxes!
