Can cider vinegar help me to lose weight?
Asked by anonymous on Mar 09, 2007 in Alternative & Integrative Nutrition

I've heard that apple cider vinegar can help to reduce weight and fat. Is it true?

Answer

There is no scientific evidence that apple cider vinegar promotes weight loss. It does not breakdown fat cells, flush out toxins, speed up the metabolism, or curb the appetite. Apple cider vinegar is a harmless condiment, and so it can't hurt. Perhaps taking a few spoonfuls of vinegar a day might serve as an affirmative action to remind you to eat less.
