Woah. I guess cinnabons have a lot of butter, sugar and flour in them but when they're condensed together you don't realize how much of that stuff is actually in them.

if you make them yourself at home you can get the cal level down to 150-300 depending how fatty you make them.  i can make something similar to a cinnabon but at about 200 cals.  its soo worth the effort to make.

why not have the mini cinnabon next time, it's 300 calories. and if you go for the mini strawberry cinnabon, it's only 250.

I wasn't even aware of the existence of mini-cinnabons. This is excellent news :)

How big is a mini cinnabon?  It must be teeny if a regular one has over 1000 calories and a mini one has 250.

Anyone here a fan of the comedian Jim Gaffigan?  He does a real funny and true skit of Cinnabons, and a lot of other food for that matter.

Pillsbury makes a pack of 5 that including icing only clock in at 145 calories.

mini cinnabons are a decent size - comparable to "Pillsbury Grands".

uncleben: did you have the pecan roll cinnabon? I think it has 1100 cals; the most of any of the cinnabons.
If you live near Trader Joe's they have some "plain" cinnamon buns that taste really good. I think the brand is "Zen." They are yummy and good for you :P

You should make your own! They take a while, but when you get cinnamon buns that are the same size and less than half the calories, it is totally worth it.

haha you guys know a lot about cinnabuns! but seriously, they're like twinkis (whipped lard & sugar) ... did you know some people buy them, then fry them... grose. Anywho, when you have sugar cravings, go to fruit. You'll see how equally delicious it is and you don't feel like .... afterwards. ;)

1.  They are enormous

2. They are loaded with insane amounts of butter

3. They are loaded with insane amounts of sugar.

The one time I ever ate a cinnabon, I split it evenly with my wife and kids and we were more than satisfied - even split 4 ways, I still got a sugar rush.

Come visit Japan and try a cake or cinnamon roll here.  They are dainty and small and have a lot less sugar and grease.  Once you get used to the less intense taste, you start to like them better.  US sweets are way too sweet and rich and huge.

Uhm, no. Fruit =/= cinnabun. Twinkie =/= cinnabun. Thanks for the attempt, though. o.O;

Now I want a Cinnabon.  :c

It doesn't surprise me at all that one would have that many calories - they're just a huge mound of butter, refined flour, syrup, and sugar.

I've actually only had a full sized one a couple of times, and didn't care for it, but not because of the cals.  I don't know if I just got them from locations that don't know how to bake, but the regular size ones are so huge that they weren't fully cooked in the center, and it was just a yucky mass of uncooked dough cinnamon and sugar.  The mini ones, or even the cinna-bites, are quite good, though - but I don't have them all that often.  If I'm going to blow cals on high sugar high fat, I'm going for Ben & Jerry's, donuts, or a piece of kick ass cake.

Fruit is better fair and square! ;)

Hey whatev, sue me trying not to poison my body. ;)~

You KNOW that those sorts of comments are hurtful and rude.  And Cinnabon, despite being not very healthy, is NOT a poison, which you ALSO know.  If you are smart enough to pick healthy foods, then you should be smart enough to not make enemies for no reason.  Open your mind a little and you will see that not everyone is just like you, and everyone likes different things.  Just because it's not for you doesn't mean that you need to be a bitch.

Fruit is better fair and square! ;)

Is it just me or does almost every post on CC have some sort of argument on it these days?

DOES NOT!!!!  Wink
