Hi
I just started my exercise ruitine and was wondering if anyone tried CLA supplements to help reduce waist/get rid of belly fat as they claim it can help you with.
I saw it in a drug store the other day and it was pretty expensive. So, i am trying to decide if it's all worth it.
Thanks!
Hi,
I've been taking CLA since June 07. I think it did help me lose inches (around 2) off my hips and waist the first six months I took it. Now that I've been taking it for a while, I'm not seeing that it's really helping any more. I buy mine from Trader Joe's and it is quality Tonalin CLA and it's only $12.95 (ish) a bottle. What might work is to cycle it every six months or so. That's what I'm going to do to see if I have that initial inch loss after restarting it.
Hope that helps.
I've used it intermittently, and it does seem to work for me. Be aware though that it is not going to help you lose weight. What it does do (for some people at least) is affect how much of the weight you lose comes from fat. And it's not a huge amount for most people.
Personally, I'm taking two pills (1000mg blend containing 740mg CLA) a day which slightly surpases the amount used in studies. I'm using the Trader Joe's version right now, though I've used other brands. You can certainly find cheaper online. Make sure you find Tonalin CLA though. As far as I know, that's the only blend that has been tested.
At the moment, I'm trying a CLA+Sesamin stack (2xCLA+1xSesamin 3x per day). From what I've been reading, the CLA decreases trygliceride uptakes and the Sesamin increases fat oxidation creating a synergistic response.
There have been some side effects associated with CLA from long term use. Personally, I plan on using it for 1-2 months at most, as its effectiveness decreases as your body gets used to it anyway.
I took CLA for about 2 months. I don't think I got any benefits from it...
But maybe I didn't take it for long enough?
Thank you very much guys for the info!
I will try to find Tonalin CLA and see if it helps!
Is my sodium intake too low?
You have nothing to worry about because sodium deficiency is extremely rare. In fact, there is not even an recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA... Read more
