Claire's Bolognese Sauce Recipe

Makes 15 servings


Rich, meaty tomato sauce. Low fat version

Ingredients
16 ounces lean ground beef
16 ounces ground turkey breast
3 tablespoons olive oil
4 cloves garlic
21 ounces tomatoes, crushed, canned
12 ounces tomatoes, diced, canned
6 ounces tomato paste
1 cup carrot, grated
3 tablespoons basil, fresh
3 tablespoons parsley, fresh
Directions
  1. Brown the meat in olive oil.

  2. Add the garlic and cook for 3 minutes, stirring.

  3. Add all the other ingredients.

  4. Cook, covered, for at least 45 minutes.

  5. Serving size, about 1 cup
