A mixture of whole grains, cooked together Serving size is 1/2 cup cooked
| 1/3 | cup brown rice |
| 1/3 | cup wild rice |
| 1/3 | cup millet |
| 1/3 | cup quinoa |
| 1/4 | cup sunflower seeds |
| 1/4 | cup chopped almonds |
| 3 | cups water |
| 1/4 | tsp salt |
- Bring the water and salt to a rolling boil.
- Stir in the grains making sure each grain comes into contact with the boiling water
- Turn down to a very slow simmer, cover and cook for 20 to 30 minutes, or until all the liquid is absorbed
- Toss with the sunflower seeds and almonds.
- May be made with chicken broth or stock (add 5 calories and 100 mgs of sodium)
