Clean Eating Challenge

Quote  |  Reply
Ok, there seems to be a mysterious condition going around that is causing sabotage to our eating. I know I'm not alone here when I admit that my eating this past little while leaves a lot to be desired, causing slight weight gain after such hard work to lose it.

I also know, that I am the same person who was practically flawless in my eating for like almost 90 days straight, so I know I can get ahold of this - who's with me??

There is no deadline for sign-ups, anyone can join at any time!!

All you have to do is check in once a week (at least) & let us know how you're doing. If/when you "cheat", simply let us know & I will restart your start date.

A cheat is defined as whatever a cheat would mean to you personally, whether it be going over your calories, bingeing, not eating enough, too many treats, etc. We all know when we've cheated, so just be honest with yourself

Let's be honest with each other & keep each other eating clean k? The PRIZE to the winner? Well that's easy - weight loss!!!!!!!!! (or maintenance for those at that stage!) Let's do this!

Dee

********************************************* ***

Here's the list of all signed up & the new rules:
(let me know if I missed you)

If you lose your mind & cheat, just let me know. Then you can re-start from the next day. I'll simply unbold your name, along with updating your new start date.

After being clean for a week after a re-start, I'll re-bold your name. So you always have a chance to feel like you are succeeding.

Also, if you just don't feel like you want to partake in the challenge anymore, can you let me know so I can remove your name from the list? Thanks!!

Anyone not checking in for one week (December 25 - December 31) will be removed from the challenge.

Good luck all! People's names in bold have been going the longest or have not restarted for at least a week - way to go!!!!!!!!

I'm amazed that I've lasted this long.  But I feel weak today - Is 9pm too early to go to bed?! Not sure that I trust my self control! Thanks all x

I'm in on this too.  I'm having the hardest time trying to stay motivated to eat right and to continue to exercise.  my goal is to be at 18% body fat before i leave Iraq.  I always cheat and i don't know how to keep myself from doing that.  so, maybe this challenge will work.  So i'm in.  Whats clean eating?  I'm limited here in Iraq.
Hi all.  My first time writing, but I LOVE this site.   I am a personal trainer and yoga instructor and I just got back from Yoga in Toronto weekend conference.  Two suggestions--one, dedicate your clean eating (a sacrifice, a discipline) to someone else--every time you are struggling think of that person (or cause--e.g., world peace).  It REALLY helps you focus your intention and your energy.
Two, try to meditate or relax at least once a day.  If your urge to break your diet is strong, try a two minute "body scan and breathing."   1.  Go somewhere quiet. (Lock self in bathroom if necessary  ha ha) 2. Sit/lie down.
3.  Starting at your head with eyes closed, slowly imagine "scanning" down your whole body, feeling tension, softness, anger--whatever is there.  As you go imagine breathing softness and relaxation into the bad spots.  4.  Take 1 slow deep breath and let it out really really slowly.  Repeat 2x.  5. Open your eyes.  6.  Repeat as needed!!    GOOD LUCK EVREYONE!  Dawn
Post #3:  Clean first two days: no "weekday" booze, and 500 deficit both days.  Today: gonna take some shifting of the evening meal since hubby and I went out to Famous Daves (bar-b-que joint) for lunch, but should still be able to pull off good calorie count and a B+.  Bit high on the fat, but today was circuit class day at my gym, so have a bit more wiggle room.  So far so good! Working from home, and NOT munching ^_^!  Thanks for starting this post thread - really helping me stay focused!!
foodfreak - I purposely go to bed early to avoid eating.  If you don't trust yourself - get a good night's sleep out of the deal - forsure.  9 is NOT too early!!

count me in, I ate a small handful of chips today (before I read this) so . . now I am starting. I eat without thinking so hopefully this will help make me think about what I put in my mouth.
God this sounds like a great challenge. I've also been binging badly lately, so yayy maybe i'll find this motivating to me to start being healthy again

I have returned from Arizona and just got my computer going again.  I would love to join the challenge.  My idea of not cheating is not eating anything with refined sugar.  (I'd sincerely like to challenge myself to do this for a month)  I know I'm a couple of days late getting in, but I would like to be considered "IN" on this one... I'll go a couple of days into June to be fair...OK?

Linda
CLEAN EATING = WEIGHT LOSS !!!

NUFF SAID!!!  ;) ;) wink wink !
Day 2 - Clean!  A grade, under 20% fat, 60+ grams of fiber, and within my calorie limit.  Also got in a fabulous yoga practice today.  Yay!  But wish me luck ... my husband wants me to make him a cake tonight, and any kind of dough is my weakness ... I will not cheat ... I will be strong!!
(and tomorrow, I'll budget for a piece of cake!  ;-)
lysistrata- MY weakness is the same thing as yours. You're a strong woman for baking him a cake and not eating it. I know you can do it!! I dont know if i'd be able to, thats why i stear clear from baked goods at alllll costs!!

TODAY I'm CLEAN. seriously, it was so hard for some reason. I'm at school from 7-3 and i get reaalllyy hungry when i'm at school. you know the food court at college...a bunch of junk food. and even if it's not necessarily junk food, it's high calorie sandwhiches or pastas or something> our cafeteria does  have a really good selection of food, and most of it is really fresh, it's just that its really food i'll be eating when i'm maintaining, not trying ot lose weight, you know? today i was so tempted. i was THIS close to getting a sandwhich or a muffin or something, but after many a minutes debating in my head, i found a banana and some light n fit  yogurt.

I'm SO PROUD OF MYSELF.

SO...CLEAN AGAIN.
I've been clean for almost a year now and have lost 66 pounds!!!!!!!!!
I'm in.  I haven't been counting on the log lately and I am really in need of losing my recent weight gain.

I'm in...I eat pretty clean buttravel alot with my job so end up eating out at resturants and I  drink red wine (mostly out of boredom since I started living alone). I'm doing good with one glass a night so let's do this@!

I am at 180 and need to lose weight for my birthday in September
Yeah, can I join?

Ugh, but being home (I'm at college now) will be a nightmare... my family keeps NOTHING healthy in the house, and they throw out healthy food I buy.

Maybe I'll hide it from them. . .

But starting tomorrow I WILL EAT CLEAN with no exceptions!
I just fininshed day 4 of "clean eating"! I am so proud! NO CHEATING!!!!
