Clean Eating Challenge

Quote  |  Reply
Ok, there seems to be a mysterious condition going around that is causing sabotage to our eating. I know I'm not alone here when I admit that my eating this past little while leaves a lot to be desired, causing slight weight gain after such hard work to lose it.

I also know, that I am the same person who was practically flawless in my eating for like almost 90 days straight, so I know I can get ahold of this - who's with me??

There is no deadline for sign-ups, anyone can join at any time!!

All you have to do is check in once a week (at least) & let us know how you're doing. If/when you "cheat", simply let us know & I will restart your start date.

A cheat is defined as whatever a cheat would mean to you personally, whether it be going over your calories, bingeing, not eating enough, too many treats, etc. We all know when we've cheated, so just be honest with yourself

Let's be honest with each other & keep each other eating clean k? The PRIZE to the winner? Well that's easy - weight loss!!!!!!!!! (or maintenance for those at that stage!) Let's do this!

Dee

********************************************* ***

Here's the list of all signed up & the new rules:
(let me know if I missed you)

If you lose your mind & cheat, just let me know. Then you can re-start from the next day. I'll simply unbold your name, along with updating your new start date.

After being clean for a week after a re-start, I'll re-bold your name. So you always have a chance to feel like you are succeeding.

Also, if you just don't feel like you want to partake in the challenge anymore, can you let me know so I can remove your name from the list? Thanks!!

Anyone not checking in for one week (December 25 - December 31) will be removed from the challenge.

Good luck all! People's names in bold have been going the longest or have not restarted for at least a week - way to go!!!!!!!!

Hi Everyone!  Okay, the house guests have just left this morning and so I'm back on-line and here to say I am still CLEAN as a whistle.  Okay, maybe slight exaggeration.  But even with eating out loads, and being in a festive wine-drinking mood, I feel confident that I ate healthy and within my parameters.  I had one kind-of-splurge day but even that was way below my normal splurge.  Getting a head cold and a slight case of food poisoning (3 day old pasta that I made myself, bleh!) will keep me from going crazy even now that they're gone.  I forced our guests to take back the massive cylinder of Waitrose Digestive Biscuits ("cookies" to you and me!) because I knew that would spell trouble later.  I'm gonna give myself a pat on the back for that!  ha ha :)  Nancy
I've been trying to read all the posts, Good Job everyone, even if you do have a restart.  I feel like a complete geek!  I don't want to restart either.  My plateau has broke and my weigh-in is tomorrow and I'm down 1.5 so far this week, actually I think it's a little more.  200.3, not much longer in the 200 club WHHOOOOOOOOOOO!  Wish me luck!
Bold no more :( Ice cream got the best of me, I will be starting back at square one tomorrow
can I still sign up??? I'd like to get in on this, but I will confess now you can put my start date as tuesday we are going camping not comming home till monday night and since smores are not in my diet I know I'm going to cheat at least a little LOL ;) .

Ronda
hey every one I am clean eating ! Day one in the bag.

However I think it was on default I was violently ill yesterday I will take it any way I can get it . still can't eat too much today however  I am afraid that even though my body is not letting any thing in it might see it self as starving and I may see huge weight gain.

On the good note I was able to see that alot of the weight that was on was sodium so now I am almost what I was before the picnic. No More Corn On the Cob!!
I'm checking in!!! Doing great and feel great. I'm down a little more weight and that keeps me going.
nancy - way to go, even with all your company!!

rtd13440 - I've added you!! just check in once a week & let me know if you need a restart or want to no longer participate.
Okay I messed up HARD...

chocolate chip cookies, ice cream,.... i was doing good before this challenge i swear!
I'm going to have to trade my bold name for a non-bold.  Tomorrow is going to be a cheat day because, to be honest, I just gotta!
I'd like a restart for July 9 please.  Well... I did pretty OK for time there - almost a full month.  Little by little, though.  At least I'm not eating junk EVERY day now!  :)
I hope everyone had a happy 4th of July!
songchild Today was a very good day for me.  I'd like to join this post too.  I need to lose the 10 pounds I've gained since Feb.  l don't want to gain the other 15 pounds I have lost since May 2006!
Thanks Dee, it was fun to try to keep healthy this last week. The real challenge comes today at lunchtime.  My partner made a Tiramisu and in my clean eating rules, I can only have a tiny bit.  I would LIKE to eat the whole bowlful.  The pressure from all around at the table is too easy to cave into.  I want to be kept bold so we'll see.  I took photos of the process and will put the recipe and photos in my journal if anyone wants to know this sweet path to dieting doom.  (250 grams of mascarpone cheese = 1116 calories!!!) XXNancy
hey guys can you believe it...i'm still clean!:))) Thanks Dee:)
hey i would like to join!!
Can I get a restart for Jul 8.  Had a slip up yesterday, but considering its already afternoon and I'm already back on track today, sad as it sounds, that's progress for me.

Trying something new too...took a booklet of Post-its, numbered the pages 35-1, and keeping it in my car.  Each morning I'll peel off the number for the day before, and make any notes on it if I slipped.  I tend to be weakest in the afternoon on my way home from work...so hoping that looking down at that "Day 30" or "Day 20" sheet on my drive home from work will help me reset my focus and stay strong through those 3-4 hours of weakness.
Also thinking it might help change my thinking to "hey, I've stayed clean 9 out of 10 days...that's good," instead of thinking, "well, I screwed up yesterday, feel bad about it, must eat sweets, sigh...maybe I'll get back on track tomorrow."

Hi gang, checking in!  Post-MIL-lunch and still clean.  I think this last Sunday was the first time in MONTHS that I've been able to digest her cooking?!!  I felt like a calorie counting idiot savant, though: 1/2 glass wine, 20 gnocchi, 2 zucchini flowers, 4 small pieces rabbit, 7 fried/baked potato strips, 1 spoonful tiramisu.  I know she was offended I didn't eat more but gosh did I feel better for it.  This is the proof in the moderate-portion pudding that clean eating works.  Thanks everyone for the motivation!  Nancy
Good morning everyone. I would like to join your clean eating club. I have been eating clean since May 23, and would like to join you all on today's date. It does make a huge difference what type of foods that you eat. In fact, I ate soooo much veggies and fruit yesterday, that I felt full and it was only 1500 calories.I drink over 100 ounces of water per day. Other than those things, I eat black beans, cottage cheese, almonds, walnuts and sunflower seeds. I also eat about 8 ounces per day of either lean meats, chicken, fish, or seafood. I ocassionally eat whole grain brown rice or whole wheat bread (but only sparingly). I always eat 7-9 servings of fruits and veggies per day. And I use Olive oil for cooking or mixed with red wine vinegar for a salad dressing. In april, I weighed 354 pounds, and now I weigh 322 pounds.

Enough of my story. Best wishes to all of you.

Hey Everybody I posted before that I would like to join the Clean- eating challenge, but that I was going away and would be back on the 10th, so now I'm ready to start! I was pretty afraid that I'd gain weight while on vacation, but I actually lost 2 lbs! funny eh? Anyways, I'd like to join because recently I've done alot of binge- eating, and I know I need to stop ASAP. There are also a few other things I need to stay in check with, so here are my personal rules: -No eating, snacking or bingeing between meals and planned snacks. -Go to the Body Pump class at my gym every saturday morning -exercise for at least 30 minutes 5 times/ week. -No unhealthy foods except 100 cals of dark chocolate per week. Anyways, so I'll be sure to check in every week and I wish everyone the best in their clean eating and calorie counting!
I'd love to join.  Starting tomorrow, I will no longer go scavenging for sweets because I crave them while at work.  That was my downfall this weekend seeing as it was my father's birthday and I just had to eat all of the huge piece of cake he gave me. (slap on the hand) Bad! Bad! But from now on, only goodness goes into this temple :)
songchild

So far so good.
