Cleaning the body in a healthy way.

Quote  |  Reply
Hi everyone,

I came to the realization lately that I need a good clean up of my digestive system and even more than that a good clean up of my body from the abuse that badly eating has done to it over the years. I am looking for information on what is most efficient to properly clean the body in a healthy and nutritious way.

I don't want to deprive myself from food by fasting as I know that in the long run deprivation of food will cause more damage to my body than not. If I go to a natural food store they will offer me 'natural' cleaning products that might not be altogether good for my particular needs (I have thyroid gland troubles and cannot take some kinds of natural products).

Any informed counsels from anyone who has either been through this process or knows of a book or recognized web site or health information that can get my body cleaned up from the inside in a good healthy way would be highly appreciated. If anyone knows of a post that has already been done on this subbject, please let me know so I can go read it to help myself along.

Thank you and God bless you for taking the time to help out.

i take fiber supplements, that keeps things moving and fiber helps your body clean out your intestines.
Hi I have been thinking the same thing. My belly feels bloated and I've just wanted to kinda cleane outand start really fresh. I've been researching colon cleanse and have gotton some results. They are kind of actually REALLY nasty results but seem to work. They are also kind of expensive. But I am going to try one and I'll let ya know

I did a cleanse called Wild Rose. You can eat alot of food, but with some restrictions. You take the supplements that come in the package, and eat the food that is on the list.. (brown rice, almonds, oatmeal, potatoes, butter, beef, berries..) I didn't find it restricting at all. Alot of ppl experience diahrea though, however i didn't. I did it for 14 day, and felt awesome afterwards. I'm pretty sure that it wasn't the supplements in the package because I was eating awesome, healthy foods. Most of which were alkaline.

Alkaline foods are known to be cleansing to the body. I would suggest doing a cleanse on these foods.. you go 80% Alkaline and 20% Acidic.

here's a list of some foods:

Best cleanse I know of is to eat tons of fruit, vegetables, and drink lots of water! You can blend/juice vegetables and fruit, take a multi-vitamin and don't do it for longer than a week.
I am trying to gain ewight, and have IBS (that mimicks gall bladder disease) I eat lots of veggies, fruit, yogurt, and have to avoid fats (as I get smellier and t hurts if i have too much) and LOTS of water, peeing every 2 hours or so. But I'm still bloated and clogged. I've tried no dairy and no meat (but its hard as I have to gain weight and Im a very active person and cant just eat a pile of nuts)
Is there anything I can add to my diet to help cleanse me without me smeeling worse like apple cider vinager or something!?! I dont have the option of a juice fast or anything, as I'm very active and already trying to gain weight. I'm going nuts cos I already eat really healthy, but am a big foody and love chocolate (but have had to avoid it until i get better)

Mayve I'll try Wild Rose!

red_herring i don't know if wild rose would be too great for your IBS since it does include a laxative and bile stimulating supplement. Try adding more akaline foods into your diet, as they are naturally cleansing, lemons in your water would be a good start. The link for a list of alkaline and acidic foods is in my post above. maybe try adding more beans, and drink lots of soy milk if you don't want to do the dairy in order to gain wieght. Also since your very active, try adding more calorie dense carbs, like larger servings of pasta and potatoes
